I bought this for playing DivX movies that were downloaded from computer, you can put up to six movies on one DVD. i tried coby and lg brand and they did not play all the movies the Philips DVP3680/F7 did. they need to improve how it reads the disk it dont show the whole tittle if its to long.but that don't stop it from working good.3 out of 3 found this review helpful.

I have always bought Philips products because they play the XVId / DivX format of my computer movies. This is my latest product, which I purchased for a friend so he could watch the .AVI / XVID movies. The unit plays the format without diffiuclty, and played all my other DVD movies with 1080 upconversion as well.
This unit can play the .AVI / XVID / DivX files either from a DVD (which is how I store most of my movies) or from a USB 2.0 flash drive. Sweet!
I tried it both with an HDMI connector to an HDTV and with the RCA cables to an older analog CRT TV. No problems with either.
There are simple buttons on the front of the device in addition to the remote. It is a small, quiet device. Does the job efficiently. That's all I want.
Of course, this isn't a smart DVD player, but for that (i.e. Netflix, Pandora, YouTube streaming, etc.) I use the Magnavox device ($30 at RadioShack). By keeping the streaming and the DVD player / XVID viewing functions on separate devices, I can update each independently. Since all my TVs have multiple inputs, this isn't a problem.
I looked for a week until I found this unit (and had tried many other brands and DVD units until finding this one). Best Buy employees have no clue about their products, and this was tucked away in a corner of the store. I'm glad I found it!12 out of 12 found this review helpful.
