Synopsis

Devastated upon receiving the news that her husband has been killed in a tragic car accident, a woman wakes up to find him still very much alive as she begins to slip into a confusing world where the past and the future become increasingly difficult to distinguish. Linda Hanson (Sandra Bullock) was an average housewife with a loving family, but when a policeman comes knocking on her door with news that her husband, Jim (Julian McMahon), was involved in a fatal car accident, Linda's world slowly begins to unravel. While her grief is at first overwhelming, Linda assumes that the whole thing was nothing more than a vivid dream when she wakes to find her family still very much intact. With each passing day, however, Linda's reality shifts and her circumstances grow increasingly surreal; one day Jim is dead and the next he is right there by her side. As her investigation leaves her convinced that her husband's death wasn't a dream and that her picture-perfect life may not have been quite as flawless as she thought, Linda embarks on a mind-bending journey to prevent her grim premonition from becoming a reality. Now, in order to save the man she loves, Linda will have to piece together a perplexing mystery that seems to span two separate planes of reality. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Disappointing and Confusing
2
Posted by: from on 05/07/2008I thought this movie might be interesting, instead it was more of a mess. The film is full of contradictions that, when all is said and done, just don't make any sense. I think the production crew themselves might have been confused as to how they wanted to present this picture. Anamorphic Widescreen with several bonus features, but I'd recommended skipping it.

Slightly Disappointing

Posted by: from washington, dc on 02/21/2008The movie had great intentions on staying positive, but the plot was too confusing. Once the plot was figured out, the ending itself was terribly disappointing. The movie is not what was expected from the previews.

Posted by: from Fort Worth, TX on 10/22/2007This was a really good movie. I have never really been a Sandra Bullock fan, but this was a great movie. She really played the part well. For a minute, I really did believe she was losing it. The end, however, was too sad for me and I sort of wish it were different.

Premonition
4
Posted by: from San Diego, CA on 09/11/2007I have enjoyed watching Sandra Bullock in every movie she has made, and Premonition is no exception. It was a great mystery, not at all confusing to me. As the story line continued and we learned more about what was really going on, I was hoping each time she woke up that her husband would be alive. Right down until the final minutes when she attempts to change the past and save him and we learn that it was actually her fault he died because she told him to turn around, I was rooting that the ending would turn out happy. After the crash is reshown for the last time, I just expected her to wake up one more time and see him in the bed. The story just proves that we cannot change the past. I believe her character had a true power to see the future, but she was at the mercy of something she could not change. I enjoyed the story and the acting and the surprise ending which actually brought some happiness to the final situation. I will be adding this to my DVD collection.

Premonition

Posted by: from on 09/09/2007This movie was amazing. If you liked Memento then Premonition is right up your alley. Its a fast paced movie that makes sure you're keeping up with the action. If you miss a moment you'll lose the whole premise of the movie. Once you get to the end you understand what happened throughout the entire movie. Its a great tie in ending. I'd recommend this movie to anyone who likes kind of mysteries, suspense etc.

Great Performance in Bullock

Posted by: from on 09/09/2007This was one of the best films of Sandra bullock, you can actually see an improvement in her performance. You totally believe what shes going trough. The plot is a bit confusing at first and at the end you kind of wish it would end differently, but still a great film!
