Purchasing a Plan
You can purchase Geek Squad Protection for products you buy both online and in our stores. Purchase a plan during checkout or at any time during the product's return period. The return period is listed on your receipt, which for online purchases you can print from My Account.
To purchase Geek Squad Protection in the store:
Tell your Best Buy sales associate you'd like to purchase a plan, and he or she will provide paperwork for registering your plan when you check out.
To purchase Geek Squad Protection online:
Note: In some product categories, Best Buy stores will have more Geek Squad Protection options than those offered online, with longer terms and different coverage options. Please contact your local Best Buy store for details.
To purchase Geek Squad Protection for items previously purchased:
Visit your local Best Buy store Or call 1-800-GEEKSQUAD (1-800-433-5778). Please have a copy of your receipt. For online purchases, you can print a receipt from My Account.
Renewing or Canceling Plans
Renewing Your Plan
A one-year extension is available on most products at the end of your initial plan. (Please note that PRPs cannot be renewed.) To purchase a renewal plan, call 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289) or 1-800-GEEKSQUAD (1-800-433-5778).
Returning Your Plan
To receive a full refund on a plan, you must return your plan within 30 days of purchase. For plans returned after 30 days, refund amounts will be prorated based on the purchase date.
Getting a Copy of Your Plan
For Online Purchases
If you purchased a Geek Squad Protection plan for a product that you plan to have shipped or delivered to your home, a copy of your plan will be e-mailed to you as soon as the product has been shipped or delivered.
If you're using store pickup, we will e-mail you a copy of your plan when your order is ready for pickup.
You can also get a printed copy of your plan by calling 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289). You'll need to provide your plan number and current mailing address.
Please make sure you save this copy of your plan, because you will use this information if you need to file a Geek Squad Black Tie Protection claim for your product.
For In-Store Purchases
