When I went into Best Buy I found this one and a less expensive model. This model looked like it would do a better job on improving reception so I spent the extra to get it. While my reception is still not perfect it is greatly improved over what it was with no antenna.

Great while your waiting for cable to be installed

Posted by: peoni from Baltimore, MD on 05/18/2013I live in a 1st floor high-rise in the middle of the city, where there is little to no reception. I did NOT want a cable contract. The sales associates at BB thought this would do the trick, as it also plugs in to an electric outlet. They had bought this more expensive product themselves. It did bring in the reception in a better fashion immediately. I only watch TV occasionally. All 3 major networks come in...but not the PBS (local or national).

Posted by: George5678 from on 05/13/2013I live in a very remote area and had already two other non-amplified antennas without much luck. This antenna works great, I am now able to receive ALL of the HDTV stations in my area. The antenna does need to be adjusted from time to time but that is to be expected. Also, it works better when placed off to the side of the TV rather than behind it. Anyone that had issues with it should have tried that. If you try this antenna and don't get any stations, the antenna is surely not the issue because this one works awesome. I would recommend this antenna to anyone who is ready to cutoff that expensive DirecTV

Many channels seem to get bad reception and noise

I get a lot of digital noise and distortion for many stations. The antennae are very long and kind of visually obtrusive.

Great basic antenna with amplifier
