Synopsis

Saw series mainstay Darren Lynn Bousman reunites with Twisted Pictures producers Oren Koules and Mark Burg for this futuristic shocker detailing a terrifying epidemic of organ failures. The denizens of planet Earth have been devastated by inexplicable and widespread organ failures, and as a result scientists begin planning a substantial organ harvest. Though an innovative biotech conglomerate subsequently offers the fearful public a means of maintaining their health by enacting a series of hassle-free organ payment plans, things begin to get messy when it's revealed that the financed body parts are subjected to legal default, and that failure to maintain proper payment will result in forceful repossession of the organs. Paul Sorvino and Spy Kids' Alexa Vega star alongside celebrity socialite Paris Hilton in the Lionsgate film. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Great Movie
4
Posted by: from on 10/05/2009If ignorance is bliss, then Floridajpr must be the happiest person on earth. This movie is filled with great music and lyrics and they are sung by some very talented singers. No, the producers didn't get people from bands trying to break into show biz. Obviously some critics don't know who Sarah Brightman is or didn't bother to look into the back ground of the actors in the movie. Anthony Stewart Head and Alexa Vega are mainstream actors that have a heavy background in music, Terrance Zdunich has a fantastic baritone voice, and Sarah Brightman is a consumate professional soprano opera singer... this movie was actually her first experience with acting. All in all... if you're looking for something fresh and entertaining, and you enjoy rock opera type movies, please check this one out.

Greatest Rock Opera!!!
5
Posted by: from Terra Incognita on 06/19/2009An amazing and refreshing movie. When Hollywood's churning out legions of remakes, comic book adaptations, book adaptations, and work that's just so derivative as to be asinine; someone does something original. Contrary to one of the reviews; I'd say the music [and singing] was VERY high quality and very enjoyable. I must admit though, this movies isn't for everyone [If a horror-themed rock opera isn't your cup of tea; obviously this isn't for you! Most of the bad reviews seem to from people that can't appreciate this kind of work]. The one downside is that the creators had to cut a bunch of the sub-plots that made the story more dynamic because Lionsgate said the movie was too long. When they eventually break even on this [barely advertised] masterpiece; they're hopeful they'll be able to get Lionsgate to release an uncut edition. Buy the movie and the soundtrack to support the cause! The Blu-Ray edition includes some songs/scenes not released with the DVD. Be sure to listen to the commentaries, they definitely make you like the movie even more. You see that the creators actually wanted to bring something cool to the world rather than just make a quick buck.

Worst Movie I Ever Tried To Watch
1
Posted by: from Jacksonville, FL on 03/28/2009They went out and got the worst singers from the worst bands they could find for this movie! These must be singers from bands that cannot sell any records and they are trying to make a break into showbiz. My friend bought this movie and thought it was going to be a decent flick until we started watching it and it never got any better but worse! What a waste of money! Terrible acting and singing! My friends 12 year old daughter can sing better than any of these so called singers!

Coolest, most unique film I've ever seen!
5
Posted by: from TX on 01/16/2009I drove 2 hours out of my way to be able to see this movie in theaters and it was AMAZING! I ordered the blu-ray for the additional stuff that doesnt come on the dvd special features, plus I'm sure the picture/sound for a movie with this kind of imagery will be stunning on blu-ray. The commentaries are good and the making of featurettes are pretty stadard fare... I wanna see the deleted scenes though, and they only come on the blu-ray version. The cast is great (even Paris Hilton) and the music is AWESOME. the overall feel of the movie comes across very well. It's very futuristic without being TOO futuristic. The story is very unique and very well acted/directed. Darren Lynn Bousman (of the SAW sequels) does an amazing job of visualizing everything. The end product of this movie is astonishing considering they had a budget that could barely buy shoestrings! I recommend this movie to anyone who likes movies that are different... but not if you don't like singing. Every word of this movie is sung... because, hey... it's an OPERA!

Rocky Horror Picture Show meets Bladerunner!
5
Posted by: from Nashville, TN on 01/10/2009This movie has quickly gained "cult icon" status with it's national tour. Being a mix of comedy, horror and drama, it can be best compared to Rocky Horror Picture Show with lots of steam punk/gothic overtones. The cast does an amazing job bringing this futuristic world to life. The only thing I did not like is that with all the singing, sometimes it is hard to follow what is going on. Should be a lot easier to understand on the home theater front than in a crowded noisy theater. A definite must see hit!!
