buy this if you like light shining in your face1

I picked this light up tonight for my Kindle Touch, and I'll be returning it at the first opportunity.
Pros:
It's good and bright. As a proof of concept that a light would be a helpful thing to have with my Kindle, it was great.
Cons:
Pretty much everything else --
- The "light" area wraps around the sides of the lamp. In theory, this probably makes it so that it illuminates a wider area, rather than focusing all of the light in one spot. In practice, what this means is that pretty much no matter what angle you adjust it at, you're going to end up with bright light shining right in your eyes. Blindingly bright, to the extent that I saw ghosting for several minutes after looking away from the Kindle when the light was on it. I found it very unpleasant to use.
- The "adjustable gooseneck arm" is very stiff and difficult to adjust. I guess it's great that once you get it where you want it it will almost certainly stay there, but trying to fight it into the position that you want it in in the first place is quite difficult.
- The clip is clearly designed to be attached to something flat -- which, unfortunately, my Kindle isn't. Because of this, it doesn't sit flat on the back of the Kindle, but rather juts out at a rather awkward angle. It might work better attached to certain cases, rather than the Kindle itself (the case I ordered from Amazon is still en-route, so I wasn't able to test that).
Overall, while it performs the basic duties required of it, it's poorly designed in several ways that I consider to be serious deal breakers.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

This is a great value not to mention wonderful product. Easy to use, very bright and long lasting battery. Very durable too as my 9 year old uses it often and it withstands the wear and tear.
Very pleased with this product!0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

great light so i can read my kindle in the dark4

Love my clip on LED light. It is great when traveling in the dark. I can turn on the light and read and not bother the driver or the other driver's on the road with a larger interior car light turned on. It does seem a little delicate but that just might be because I am not used to it yet. I do have a little trouble getting it clipped on the kindle cover but practice will take care of that I am sure.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

the unit refused to work within 2 days of giving it as a present. The recipient even changed the battery and it still wouldn't work. I gave her mine and I have hers to return/exchange.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

I purchased this for my Kindle Keyboard I got last X-mas after seeing it in my local store. After reading some reviews, I decided to give it a try. Man, I should have listened to the reviews. Upon taking it out of the package and attempting to gently pivot the head, I noticed that the arm was stiff. Very stiff. To the point where it would only stay in place after I applied substantial force and over-bent it to where I wanted it.
After using it for a couple of hours, I decided to try to put it back into the plastic holder it came in. Big mistake. Upon rebending the arm to fit back into the plastic mold, the plastic covering of the arm and the base of the light head separated, exposing the internal cabling and consequently, pulling something out of place. Suffice it to say, I was not a happy camper (seeing how this was more expensive than other lights that should have been of the same quality) and was returned as defective.
If you are looking for a reading light that will last you longer than the first day, I would honestly look elsewhere. I am very particular with my electronics and tried my best to treat this light with delicacy, as I did read another reviewer's similar situation, but even my best efforts were too much for this very frail device.2 out of 2 found this review helpful.

I purchased this to use on my lap top as I do not have a back light keyboard and I like to sit in bed and finish my book work or surf the internet. This works great when my husband wants to sleep with the lights out and I am not finished on my computer yet.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

It clips easily to my Nook and it gives off great light. There is a spot where it has a glare against the screen usually, but it's not a huge deal.1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

Clipped the light to my Nook, bent the neck, flipped the switch and no light. Bending the neck caused the wire to break at the base. Light will only function if neck is not bent which is of no use.2 out of 2 found this review helpful.

not a good fit with the Kindle Touch3

I picked this up on black friday for cheap. If I had paid full price I would have been very unhappy. I purchased it for my new Kindle Touch. It does not fit well on the touch. It does fit on it, but the clip is too narrow so the back of the clip doesnt lay flat against the kindle. With the awkward fit it can slide off easily. But, it is usable and does the trick...just would like a better fit.5 out of 6 found this review helpful.

I love my e-ink Nook but occasionally I wanted to read in low light. This is the perfect add-on: small, light weight and great, directed light! I got it on a special sale so it was really a great buy - but even at regular price, it would be a welcome item for all e-ink readers. Couldn't find any warranty information!6 out of 8 found this review helpful.
