Posted by: Droidier from MD on 04/21/2013It's not as strong as Otterbox, yet not nearly as bad as a plastic hard case. I've had mine for about a month, and sometimes I forget it's there. It's very thin and blends in with the phone.
It says in the description that it's "TPU plastic." I didn't know what that was, and I found out it's not plastic at all. It's like a sort of rubberized plastic. It stays on the phone through drops and whatnot and NEVER gets scratched, yet it's easy to take off if you need to. Ideal material and fit, in my mind. I haven't tried it with a car dock, but all of the ports can be accessed easily. It also covers up the power and volume buttons, with little bumps in their place.
One thing I can see a problem with is for people like me; with OCD and oily fingers, the material that this case is made of gets smear marks easily. They're only visible when you tilt the phone a certain way, though. That is my only complaint, really. It is plain black, with no design whatsoever, but I'm not going to count that as a bad thing. Also, if you buy a screen-protector, this case is compatible with them, but on one corner, where the case wraps around to the screen, it was rubbing against the corner of the protector, making a tiny air bubble every once in a while. Again, I won't count this against the case, as it was probably my fault for not putting the protector on straight enough.
Overall, if your looking for something in-between a $4 hard case and a $xx Otterbox, this is the best choise I've seen. The main reason why I even got a case was so that I could set my phone screen facing down on the table, without the screen scratching. But with my old phone going through 3 hard cases, I wasn't settling for those things. So I got this and was extremely happy with it.

Not bad for a moderately priced case.

Posted by: LeggoMyEggo from Baltimore, MD on 01/20/2013I bought this case to protect the phone right out of the store and I was pleasantly suprised with the price relative to what other cell phone sales venues charge for a product of equivalent or lesser quality. I ended up purchasing the Otterbox commuter case to provide additional protection but I have gone back to the Rocketfish case because It works with the Motorola Navigation dock whereas the Otterbox has to be litterally jammed into the dock to even think about it fitting. So until I modfiy the nav dock to accept the Otter case, I will stick with this one.

Wrong item description

Posted by: Kristen00 from Dahlgren, VA on 12/04/2012The online item description states that this case is for the Droid Razr Maxx. However what is actually in the box is the case for a Droid Razr Maxx HD. The box that the case comes in even says Droid Razr Maxx HD but the Model # on the box is for the Maxx according to the online description.
The Maxx and the Maxx HD are similar in size but the camera and ports are in different locations. This fits the phone but if I want to take a picture, use headphones, or remove the SD card I have to take the case off which defeats the purpose of having a case on the phone. I don't know if this is a Best Buy problem or if Rocketfish packaged it wrong. I would actually go to the store to purchase so that you can make sure you get the right one!!
