Troubleshooting with Sonos did not resolve.
Considering returning this product.
I can configure every other electronic and computer/peripheral device in my house except this one.

Wanted a speaker that "did it all". That is, one that could play music from my iTunes library and the internet, as well as play music via my TV and DVD. Salesman said that it could not be used as a TV speaker, but the unit has a line input and it's easy connecting this to the TV, cable box, or DVD player. The result: good sound, maybe not what you'd get from a 5.1 or 7.1 system, but for one wireless speaker, the sound is pretty good.1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

I have one or more of everything Sonos sells. Outstanding company. Outstanding products. The Play 5 is a smart looking, great sounding device to start your system or add on to an existing system. This one operates alone in a bedroom and sounds clean and clear. The volume fills the room and then some. In a larger room, I have 2 Play 5s and a Sonos Sub...awesome sound! If you haven't tried Sonos you should!!1 out of 1 found this review helpful.

Impressive Sound, Even Better When Stereo Paired5

I went to Best Buy to use some giftcards but really didn't have anything I really needed. Though I thought it would be a decent time to possibly refresh my portable dock for the ipod. Anyway, I was asking if this Samsung with the built in tubes was worth it. The knowledgeable sales person asked if I'd seen the Sonos system. They took me over to Magnolia to check it out. They were using the Play 3. I was really impressed and bought a couple Play 5's. It seems like the hookup on these goes easy for most. However I had problems. In the end, you may have to change some of your virus protection settings to allow sharing. However I still couldn't get the Play 5 Connected. I stumbled into advanced settings and changed the default broadcast channel setting, I think to 6. Once I did that, everything was as easy as promised to connect.
Once the system was in place, it was incredible. The sound was truly outstanding even in a large living room (20x25). Once I paired the two speeakers for stero things got even better. The internet radio was a complete bonus as I did not expect it to sound as good as it does. The music library was fully accessible right off the bat and the controller software is full featured and very intuitive. I love the eq setting for each individual speaker. The methods they are using to reproduce sound from the digital source are perfect as I feel the speakers make everything sound great. I've since added 3 more Play 5's, just love the flexibility.
The iphone controller app is great as well. Audio has to be really good to impress me and these are above and beyond what I expected.
Now I just need them to come up with a way to use these as externals for our flat screen and I'll be a customer for life!0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

I now have 3 Sonos Play 5 speakers and a bridge controlled by 2 cell phones, an iPad, and my laptop. It is a seamless, beautiful system, which is a cinch to install and manage.
There is an almost infinite number of internet radio stations offering everything from classical and early music to heavy metal plus Sirius XM which I am using also.
The sound quality is excellent although admittedly not audiophile level.
All in all, a home run which I enjoy every day after one month of use.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.
