Looks great in my kitchen

Posted by: from Douglas, AZ on 05/15/2012I love the led light and chime when you leave the door open. It has enough space for a small family. The only down side is that Milk gallons and tall containers only fit upright on the door shelves. The icemaker is noisy, but overall its a nice refridgerator.

A Piece of Junk and Samsung does not Support It
1
Posted by: from florida on 02/15/20121 year after purchase, it broke down just before Thanksgiving 2011, flooding the interior and defrosting my freezer. Lost all of my Thanksgiving food. Required replacement of evaporator cover and defroster sensor, but but still getting water in the crispers, causing spoilage. Meantime, it took Samsung over a week to get service to me, and no local appliance repair co. can address a Samsung product unless certified by Samsung. At that point, Samsung also sold me an extended warranty plan in Nov. but never issued a contract after receiving payment. 3 months later and still no contract after more than 10 follow up calls, and refrigerator continues to malfunction. AVOID THIS APPLIANCE AND ANYTHING MADE BY SAMSUNG. THEY ARE A NIGHTMARE TO DEAL WITH!

the only real draw back is there is no water...

Posted by: from Gainesville, VA on 01/06/2012This refrigerator does not have a water dispenser inside the door or inside the fridge but because of the width issue this was the only model that would fit and I do like the French Doors

Smart and Sleek

Posted by: from Rochester, MN on 11/16/2011Overall very happy with the performance of the appliance. The only negative as many other reviews say is the inflexibility of placing the levels, its just too few options especially when you have bigger bottles like juices etc. to put. If you can live with that then this is perfect for a small width space.

Looks Great

Posted by: from Upland, CA on 11/10/2011Refrigerator fit perfect in the small space I had, but only lasted less than a week before breaking down. Poor design when it comes to the water inlet tube, mounted just above the refrigerator circuit board. Water leaked into the circuit board compartment, which fried the circuit board. Returned refrigerator for a Kitchen Aid, which had more features.

Unbelievable buzzing sound, Samsung denies it.
1
Posted by: from Baltimore on 10/25/2011I am very tolerant of appliances, but this purchase will be my last samsung product ever. The refrigerator makes a very loud buzzing sound. I called Samsung and they referred me to a support page which simply said the buzzing sound was "normal". This is complete horse hockey. a) The fridge made no such sound for the first five weeks and then started making it all the time. b) Moreover if I nudge the fridge a bit it stops for a while. Clearly there is a design flaw with some part on or near the main compressor motor which gets loose and cause this sound. My flooring is floor vinyl over a very study subfloor, is solid, and is not either the cause or an amplifying factor because the sound comes directly from the rear lower compartment where the compressors are. Looking on the web I see scores of complaints about this. Designs always are changing change, and I don't blame Samsung for having this problem, but I CANNOT believe that's rather than coming up with a repair solution (probably some bushing retrofit or some type of faster that doesn't loosen,) they simply say it is normal. Samsung obviously has a known issue here. Their claim at several support levels that they have no complaints on it, when it is fully in 1/3 of all the reviews (and many reviews not noting it were probably done by people who had the fridge for a week) is just very POOR post purchase support

Great Fridge...Low Price

Posted by: from Tallahassee, FL on 10/13/2011This fridge is amazing! My husband and I bought it a few months ago and it has been a dream! The veggies last twice as long if you set up the temperature as it specifies on the instructions and it just works great! The bottom freezer shuts by itself and the handle is baby-cat-dog-proof!

Poor shelf adjustment options
1
Posted by: from Twin Cities on 09/18/2011Shortly after delivery, I realized that there are 2 full-width shelves, but only 3 slots to put them in leaving me with no way to store more than 2 pitcher-like containers the heighth of a milk carton, juice bottle, pitcher for lemonade or iced tea, wine bottle(10.5"), etc., except to store on their sides. The only shelf arrangement that would work would be to put the 2 adjustable shelves in the 2 lower slots, which left me with the two shelves so close together that one was completely unusable (less than 2: high) and the other ony 4". I talked with Samsung Service assuming I must be missing something, but they agreed that I had tried everything and there is no way to store 10" containers without creating useless 2" and 4" high shelves. Thanks to Best Buy's return policy, this one has been returned in favor of an LG with fully adjustable split shelves.

Make a little more room and get something better
2
Posted by: from Los Angeles, CA on 08/24/2011This thing has some clever and nice improvements, like the temp controls digital on front of fridge, the icemaker seems to work well, and I love freezer on the bottom. BUT you can't readjust the shelves in any meaningful fashion and a gallon of milk does not fit anywhere but the bottom rung of each door. This is fine if you are a family that all drinks the same milk, but one member of our family needs ricemilk and we are SOL. Not to mention that one of those spots will end up being for the Britta pitcher since you don't have in door water. Bottom line. If I had more space or owned the property and could make more space, I would have sent this machine back.

Really like this fridge

Posted by: from Lexington, KY on 08/14/2011We replaced our kitchen appliances and purchased this unit in December 2010. The only issue we have had: when it made too much ice and the cover came off the sensor. We popped it right back on and kept an eye on the ice level, turning it off when needed. A note to Samsung-the door storage is for gallon jugs, but we find our milk is colder when stored on the shelf. Unfortunately the shelving has a 1/4" lip which forces you to tilt the gallon to place it on the shelf. We drink about 6 gallons of milk per week so this was a minor snafu for us with the design of this unit. The storage bins are roomy and keep everything fresh longer than our old unit. Freezer on the bottom is a wonderful feature and we have more than enough storage there. Remember to put the ice scoop to the side of the bin so it doesn't catch the sensor when the drawer is opened!

Both 1st & 2nd Samsung refrigerators malfunctioned
1
Posted by: from Madison, WI on 08/11/2011The 1st Samsung refrigerator we received from Best Buy started to make very loud noises intermittently within the first 24 hours after delivery. The freezer temp registered at minus 17, which was more than 20 degrees below the setting!! The 2nd Samsung also started making the same noise several hours after it was delivered, the freezer temp registered BELOW minus 20, and the door-open alarm didn't work!! The repair person said that both the compressor and the main board needed to be replaced, so we decided to return this bad fridge and not get another Samsung replacement. We received absolutely horrible treatment from Best Buy over the several weeks we were dealing with these bad fridges. Many of our phone messages were not returned and several of my emails went unanswered. When I asked to have the 2nd bad fridge picked up, I was told that I had to wait at least 10 days for the pick-up since the Best Buy trucks were fully booked for the next 9 days! After speaking to a customer service specialist at the central Best Buy toll-free number, I received a phone call from the local manager. He apologized several times for all the trouble we had with the many employees we talked to over several weeks and he said he would work to improve customer service. His most telling statement was that none of the Best Buy employees we spoke to had made our fridge problem a priority!

2nd time's a charm

Posted by: from denver, co on 08/04/2011We bought this fridge a couple months ago and the first one worked fine but made a loud noise when cooling. We called up Best Buy to to see what the exchange policy was and they were very helpful in setting up a schedule within a week. They delivered the replacement fridge promptly and hauled the defective one away. Ever since we received our replacement fridge, we've had nothing but good performance out of it. It's the perfect size for our small one-family house, quiet, and energy efficient. We love the digital temperature setting feature and the recommended temperature seems to be perfect for the fridge and the freezer setting. I can't emphasize enough how much I love this fridge. It's just as aesthetically pleasing as well.

Posted by: from Rocky Point, NY on 07/29/2011Replaced 10 yr. old refrigerator with this one, I am very happy with the appearance, energy rating and that it operates very quietly. I also like the lighted digital display of the temperature reading. Bestbuy offered a great price and financing.

Great fridge for the price

Posted by: from Tulsa, Ok on 07/28/2011Bought this fridge about 2 months ago and it runs and works great. Just make sure you watch the ads after you buy. Bought it for $1169 as a competitors ad match and a few weeks later Best Buy had it on sale for $1049. Went back to Best Buy and they gave me the difference back.

Posted by: from Waupaca, WI on 06/02/2011We had some difficulty finding a 2 door refrigerator with a freezer on the bottom which would fit into our space. This one fit with room to spare. So far we are very happy with it's performance and it looks great.

Posted by: from Bloomington, IL on 05/12/2011Purchased because it fit the space in a home we were preparing to sell. The french doors are nice; limited space for larger bottles. Would not purchase for my own use.

Nice fridge, loud ice maker...
3
Posted by: from on 03/29/2011I'll start by saying I like this fridge a lot. The main problem is how loud the ice maker is. If your kitchen is far enough away from bedrooms I would not hesitate to purchase this product. It's loud enough to wake me up in the middle of the night. I know this is the small model, but tall items such as a gallon of milk or a bottle of wine will only fit in the door. That being said, the unit works well and looks very nice. The LED lighting inside is very bright and looks cool.
