Great dishwasher

Posted by: from Ft. Worth on 01/15/2012So Quiet, can barely hear it running! Cleans very well. Stainless tub is definately a plus. we had it installed for $20! how can you beat that? Only had it about 2 weeks, but so far it has performed very well. Dont know about all of the reviews about it not drying. It dries much better than our last dishwasher ever did! You have to use rinsaid and put it on sanitize. No delay start, to us its not an issue with how quiet this machine is

This is absolutely the worst dishwasher

Posted by: from Spicewood, TX on 01/06/2012This is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. Half the time dishes don't come out clean and I use commercial grade detergent! You can't turn off the dry cycle. It takes hours to go through the heavy cycle which is the only cycle I use since it doesn't clean well using that cycle - why bother with the rest. Tall silverware does not fit in the silverware racks. No ability to change configuration other than dropping or lifting the top rack.

Posted by: from wisconsin on 12/21/2011samsung has had 2 different repair centers try to fix this piece of garbage. you can put clean hand washed dishes in it then run a cycle and they come out dirty! a&e factory service has been scheduled at my house every wednesday for 5 weeks to fix this problem. they even failed to show up twice. and never called. samsung is saying they are refunding my entire purchase, but ive already lost $1250 in lost wages. that can buy a few of these boat anchor dishwashers. buyer beware. i wouldnt buy another samsung product in my life. even the repair center said they are one of the cheapest made. wish i had read reviews before purchasing

Don't do it!

Posted by: from tx on 12/14/2011The previous review I gave was 3 star, but said I'd recommend. They asked the 2nd day I purchased, so what did I know then huh? DONT do it. Just got worse. Does not work properly. We literally prewash all the dishes before loading. Most loads are run a 2nd time even before we can take the dishes out of the unit. Then rinsed and wiped (with soapy sponges) yet again before putting away.

Posted by: from Tampa, FL on 10/19/2011I agree with all the negative comments. This dishwasher does not clean your dishes and harbors a funky odor. I was told to use Lime Shine and Finish to clean my dishes best but this did not help (with the odor). The control panel did something weird one day, it switched settings in the middle of the wash and I had no other choice than to start the cycle again. I have heard people complaint about drying the dishes after the wash cycle so I recommend buying a dishwasher with the heated dry option and a brand you have thoroughly investigated. Possibly a well known brand that has been in business making reliable dishwashers-this would not be Samsung- well not right now anyway. A good looking dishwasher does not mean that it will clean your dishes well. I have learned this the hard way. Don't be part of the trial and error group!

Posted by: from on 10/02/2011I have owned this Samsung DMT300RFB/X dishwasher for 9 months now. It has a problem in that it runs for 5 minutes and then the cycle stops and goes into an error mode. Approximately 70% of the time it runs the complete cycle the first time. If it stops you simply have to restart it. About 10% of the time it requires multiple restarts. Not a showstopper, but annoying. A repairman said it can do this if the hot water was run right before you start the dishwasher. Apparently if very hot water hits the dishwasher it can trigger a sensor which shuts it off. I rinse dishes while loading the dishwasher, so of course the hot water will be hot when I start the dishwasher. The next biggest problem is that it stinks. In spite of the fact that I rinse the dishes very well (a habit I can't break), apparently food rots in the bottom and stinks. This may be a downside to having a disposal in the dishwasher - more surfaces for food to cling to. Maybe if I left more food on the dishes the new food would clean the old food out of the disposal? I bought this dishwasher because I liked the flexible bottom rack for pots and pans. But I have decided this particular design is not any better than having fixed tangs on the rack. You need something to hold the pots/pans on their side, otherwise one large pot takes up the whole space when face down. The top rack is nice. It's deep and you can put a lot of stuff in there. It also doesn't dry the dishes completely. Granted, there will always be puddles which will be difficult to impossible to dry. But some extra "sanitize" cycle time would be nice. I do live in Utah, which is one of the driest areas on the planet. It takes forever to run a cycle. I always us the longest cycle which takes roughly a couple of hours. I suspect most new appliances share this trait - our new clothes washer takes almost an hour - the old one was 30 minutes. It seems to clean well, but I rinse well and use the longest cycle. It is very quiet. The repairman said that the mechanical parts of dishwashers are very durable. It's the electronics that break. Take away: buy a cheap, simple dishwasher. Note: our dishwasher washer is still not fixed.

Works Great

Posted by: from Fort Wayne, IN on 10/02/2011Most of the time we don't even remember it is running because it runs so soft. Just make sure you don't fill the detergent too full if using the normal cycle or it will run down the door and stay on the dishes in the front in huge globs. This is the only problem we have had so far but it is now under control because we figured out how much to use for the normal cycle.
