So far so good!

Posted by: from Idaho on 05/02/2012I had been researching refrigerators for some time before I made my decision. It seems that refrigerators are not made like they used to. No matter which brand you decided to go with, they are meant to break down over time instead of lasting. So with that in mind, I knew no matter what I got, it would need to be serviced at some point. Also, when it comes to water and ice maker, it seems all brands have issues. Since it's more of a convenience, I figured why not, if it works great, if it doesn't then we'll just keep getting it fixed until it does.I chose this Samsung because of the layout of the fridge and the features. If I would of known the delivery guys were going to remove the doors in the front of the refrigerator, then I would of gone with the 28 cubic feet. But I'm still happy with my purchase, it is still bigger and better than my old fridge. We've had the fridge almost a month. No issues thus far (knock on wood). I think the way they have the motor and cooling setup is awesome, don't have to worry about cleaning the cooling coils on the bottom of the fridge because there aren't any. The motor can be a bit noisy, but just varies on what it is trying to do. Still quieter than my old one. Water dispenser works great and and ice maker is sufficient for a family of 4. Overall, I' am very happy with my purchase, got a killer deal on it too!! Just waited until the price was right, not to mention, Best Buy offers a 30 day price guarantee.

Coolest Refrigerator

Posted by: from Island Lake, IL on 05/02/2012I love this refrigerator, I'm pretty sure it sings to me when I open up the french doors. It's so pretty!! As with all stainless appliances it is a bit of a pain to keep it perfectly shiny with no fingerprints but if you find the right product even that's not so bad to keep up with.

Almost Perfect

Posted by: from Iowa on 04/19/2012A month in and everything is working as it should. I spent my whole life in manufacturing, and I can say the fit and finish of this refrigerator is world class. The lighting is great, the unit is quiet and the exterior does not show fingerprints. The only negetive we have found is in the icemaker. It is very loud when it dumps ice into the storage bin, and the capacity of the ice bin is not that large. I have gotten use to the sound of the ice dropping, but it drives my wife crazy. (I love it!) There are just 2 of us so the ice production is sufficent. The smaller ice bin allows for more room for storage in th refrigerator, so for us the trade off works.

Great amt of room but motor is noisy

Posted by: from Oakland, NJ on 03/22/2012Great amount of room and the adjustable shelf is great for tall items. I love the pull out refrigerator drawer and the alarm for the doors not shut properly is great when you have kids. The only draw back I have found is that the motor is noisy.

Excellent value when on sale

Posted by: from Etters, PA on 01/25/2012Had the refridgerator for one month now. It is very quiet. Wish beige was still in style. Only black, white, and stainless colors available. If you don't mind polishing it everyday, the stainless is very attractive. Weiman Stainless Steel polish works well. I bought a two-year extra warranty just because of my personal history with various brands of refrigerators.

Posted by: from Connectocut on 01/21/2012Great frig epecially for the size as I had somewhat of a tight spot to fit but the 25.5 was perfect. Waited for the sale and saved. Love the looks as we get many compliments and improved effieciency replacing a dated refrigerator. This is my second purchase of a Samsung appliance (stove) and I'm impressed. Liked the sales person who helped me at the store and the two delivery guys were great as the had to do some negotiating to get it in place. You won't be disappointed

Best Purchase I have made.

Posted by: from Brooklyn, NY on 01/19/2012I really could go on and on about this product. Who knew I would be this excited over a refridgerator purchase. I wanted the bigger version of this refrigerator but the space in my kitchen wouldn't allow for it so I went with the smaller model. Let me say while it is the smaller model there is nothing small about it. I truly have so much space. The middle drawer does come with temperature control features and let me just say the cool drink option is perfection! talk about perfect temperature beverages. I also fit my two gallon milks and 2 ltr Pepsi bottles just fine. The amount of food you can fit in the refrigerator and freezer is ALOT, you will have more than enough space for a very large food shopping. If you’re on the fence I say go for it, you will not be disappointed. I have owned 4 good refridgerators but this one is far more superior to anything I have seen or owned.

Coolest Fridge I've Ever Owned
5
Posted by: from Brookfield, WI on 01/17/2012This fridge is cool. The drawers make access a breeze. The technology and controls operate slick and the the overall look is impressive. The middle drawer for handy snacks for kids and special temperature controls for it are super-convenient. Only flaw is the shelf sacrtifice you have to make to fit some taller items. But its not a complaint. Just need to plan how you use it and take advantage of the space it does offer.

Good and bad
4
Posted by: from on 01/16/2012Overall, we like this refrigerator--we have had it for almost 2 months. The good--love the features and it looks great. The temperature control is perfect (I have checked it!). Ice and water through the door works great. Overall, very smartly designed. This replaced an 18 year old top-on-bottom refrigerator. The bad--we have had a few problems. First, the Flex drawer would not slide properly. After arguing with Samsung, they finally sent someone out. They kept trying to convince me it was normal--it was not. Not impressed with Samsung customer service the first time. They did fix it. The gears on the drawer glides were mis-matched in position between the two sides. Problem number two: the plastic edge around the fold-up shelf (top left shelf ) began to crack. No issue with Samsung this time, but the part is back ordered--apparently a larger problem as others have also posted about cracking shelves. Ongoing negative "feature": the Flex drawer, over time, does not open all the way. Need to grab the drawer and pull with force to get it all the way out again. Need to do this about every two weeks. Have not yet reported it to Samsung. Went back to the store and found this to be true with the floor models: both this model and the similar larger model, so not unique to my unit. Took some getting used to this french door, bottom freezer style since it is so different from what we had before. Very limited door shelf space. Not much room for taller items--need to use the folding and sliding back shelves (very nice features). The flex drawer dividers are almost useless. I got two trays from the Container Store and placed them in the back--keeps the dividers from sliding back. Even with these problem, we still like it, but we are a bit concerned how it will hold up with time based on the early problems.

Unit looks great nice addition to kitchen
4
Posted by: from Western PA on 01/15/2012This is a very nice refrigerator. Plenty of room for storage of kid food items with the center drawer. Nice design really adds to the kitchen. Only two drawbacks is the ice maker is very noisy when making ice at times and second was subcontractors who delivered the unit for Best Buy were the worst in the industry. I hope for the sake of customers, BB will use in house people in the future. While I know this is separate from the appliance itself. For most since they will need it delivered, is all part of the buying experience and felt it was relevant.

So many features
5
Posted by: from Indiana on 01/08/2012I purchased this refrigerator on Black Friday so the value was excellent. I love this refrigerator. There has not been a mechanical issue but of course I have not had it that long. The features of fold up shelves, sliding shelves and the deli drawer are fantastic. I have to add that my veggies and fruit stay fresher longer than in my old refrigerator. The freezer has ample space and better organized than the older style refrigerator. The ice and water in the door is feature I had not had in the past and I like that as well. All in all I think this is an excellent purchase.

Quality Fridge but noisy
4
Posted by: from Cape Coral, FL on 11/14/2011We really like our new fridge; it is stylish, has plenty of variable space, and is overall high quality. However, when it’s quiet and you want to enjoy TV or music often, especially after it has been opened a few times to take something out, there will be a quite load and disturbing vent-noise. It’s not as if the fridge has been open for a prolonged period of time, just regular taking something out and returning it but the noise will stay on for a while and can kind-a get on your nerves. Overall – would recommend this fridge

We Love It!

Posted by: from Shelton, WA on 11/06/2011We looked at every fridge out there. Didn't take long and we knew that the Samsung was our choice. We do have a leak that we are trying to figure out where it is coming from (we think the pump). Called for service and there is no one in our area that can work on it. We don't live that far away from Olympia, WA. Anyway, still waiting to hear if someone can fix it. Even with that, we are very happy and have no complaints. We know it will be fixed and our family loves it. No complaints here! I would purchase it again. Best Fridge out there in our opinion.

Worst Customer Service
1
Posted by: from St. Petersburg, FL on 09/24/2011The touch panel plate had fallen off after two months of light use. Called Samsung's customer service and was told that they don't carry the plate itself. Samsung offered to send out a technician to determine if it was a MECHANICAL FAILURE and if it wasn't, then I would be charged for the visit. Not sure if I was clear enough to them but it was the touch panel plate that was not attached. Seriously. Each time I asked for a supervisor, the rep put me on hold and then I was hung up on...EACH TIME. It wasn't like I was being rude or anything, just sometimes you need to escalate the call to get things done....Not buying another Samsung again.

great features and smaller size
4
Posted by: from Oconomowoc,WI on 09/21/2011We really liked the design of the larger model but felt the dimensions of the smaller fridge worked better in our kitchen. I was concerned we would lose features(no one seemed to be able to answer our question regarding this) but unlike a previous reviewer we were pleasantly surprised to find that the smaller version DOES have the flex zone temperature control on the pull out drawer. Extremely quiet running, we were used to a 20 year old fridge which ran a lot. We do, however, hear the occasional ice drop(which initially freaked out the dog) but it really isnt an issue. The water hookup was a breeze with the new flexible hose system. If you use a lot of 2 liter bottles I would consider a different model. We dont, so the tall storage that is available is fine for us. Fingerprints and the stainless finish are a challenge that we were expecting but I found that the Weiman Brand stainless steel cleaner and polish does an excellent job(and I can get it at the grocery store). I really enjoy having the freezer on the bottom with an internal freezer drawer for smaller items. I love the middle drawer. We keep our sandwich fixings, cheese, butter and canned drinks(mostly V-8) in it, which is great for packing lunches. My only complaint is that the sliding drawer separator is a little too movable,it would be nice to be able to fix it in place or have fixed partitions.

Trim is very poor.

Posted by: from Va on 08/12/2011Samsung label is cheap looking. The cover over the refrigerator controls is glued on and fell off. When you pay over$2300.00 for a refrigerator this is very unsatisfactory.

Perfect replacement
5
Posted by: from Raleigh, NC on 08/11/2011This fridge has been fantastic. The middle drawer is perfect for beverages and meats (I grill a lot and it keeps the meat fresher longer). It replaced a GE which had a component fail, leaked all over my hardwoods and ruined them, causing me significant costs, and GE's response was "We will fix the fridge, but the damage is not covered." I even mentioned that I had the repair done previously for the exact same problem of water leaking which I managed to catch before it did any real damage. So they fixed an obviously defective fridge only to have it fail the exact same way, this time leaving me with thousands in damages to cover myself. My advice is to go with LG or Samsung for all your appliances and stay away from anything GE. The quality is just better from Samsung and LG and they stand behind their products.
