Great Purchase

Posted by: from Springfield, MA on 05/09/2012Thsi oven is great. I was not sure at first. I am glad that I purchased this oven. There are others out there that come with the oven already split in half. This cuts down how many dishes you can prepare. I love having the ability to use the partition and to put the oven in half. It heats up quickly and it cleans up well. I caught a great sale and it arrived as scheduled. I would recommend this to everyone.

Love it ~ still learning about the great features

Posted by: from Silverdale, WA on 05/02/2012We chose this stove because of the high customer ratings. Kudos to the Best Buy delivery guys: they were prompt, very courteous and answered all my questions. Very professional installation AND they took my 20-year old stove away for free! This Samsung stove is remarkable. I'm still trying to figure out cooking times with the convection oven, but my hubby's happy with my baked goodies! Love the divider - allows me to choose if I want to use both upper and lower sections. I'll be able to bake cornbread at 400 degrees on the top and he can slow bake his ribs for a couple of hours at 275 on the bottom. Really saves money not having to heat the whole oven for a pan of brownies. Looking forward to using the steam cleaning feature down the road. Cooktop is easy to clean. Love the different sized burner choices. Note that the heat elements will come on and go off for a few seconds. I called Samsung to see if this was normal and it is - it keeps the temperature stable. All I have to do now is get busy and start baking and cooking more so I can try out all the options. The potential is unbelievable. So far, I am so glad to have this beautiful high-tech stove!!!!!

Looks great works as expected

Posted by: from Detroit on 03/22/2012This is a nice range for a fiar price. It has a lot of features, many that we haven't used yet. My wife wanted teh double oven with warming drawer. Many of them have two fixed sized ovens. This one has a BIG radiant oven or when using the removable insert, converts it into two smaller converction ovens. It is a really nice feature. By far the warming drawer has been used more than the double ovens. We have only been using one of the upper ovens but it is nice not having to heat up the entire thing. Good buy.

Great oven with lots of features.

Posted by: from Florida on 03/15/2012Things I like: 1. The layout of the burners on the stovetop are conveniently arranged. 2. The quick boil feature works as promised. 3. The lower oven isn't too low to the floor. Since both ovens are in the same cavity, the lower oven is no lower than an average oven. 4. Still has a warming drawer even with the dual ovens. 5. Pre-heats quickly. The oven pre-heats in a flash! I love this!! What I didn't like it the fact that I had to get 3 different units delivered before I got one that wasn't damaged or broken.

This is a superior oven.

Posted by: from Lakeland, FL on 02/01/2012I have owned several different brands of ovens including Kenmore, Tappan, and GE. This is by far the best one of all. I would recommend this one to anyone in the market for a new oven. The features of the double ovens, conventiona,l convection, and the fast burner on the stove are by far the best I have used. If using one oven only the other doesn't get warm.

Great Oven, Great Best Buy Delivery Followup
5
Posted by: from Kingsland, TX on 01/29/2012My wife loves this oven. We had been looking at it for a couple of months, as an alternative to a double oven that just would not fit into our smaller lake house we permanently moved to. It replace a fairly new, slightly above contractor grade, glass top Maytag. Temperature controls on the stove top are much more uniform and precise. The convection oven works even better, faster than anticipated. My wife leaves the oven divider in most of the time which seems to make the oven heat faster and use overall less energy heating essentially a smaller compartment. So far, the product is absoluting fantastic and exactly what we expected (or more). We paid $1199 for it the day after Christmas, online (got to love those after Christmas bargains), so the price was "stunning" as well. We had a bit of a delivery problem however, which I am really impressed with Best Buys followup. The first oven delivered looked OK but the delivery guys were having a problem with the bottom warming drawer not working properly (they were VERY thorough about checking everying for proper operation before leaving). We noticed that the bottom drawer area was actually crushed somehow somewhere between shipping from Korea and my house. The said they could leave it so that I had a working stove top and oven (which they were) and schedule a return/replacement. I called Best Buy on Monday and sure enough, they had another oven at my house (in the middle of nowhere), by Wednesday. That one was almost perfect, except that the delivery guys (different people this time) noticed a half-inch dent in the vertical back corner. I wouldn't be able to see it when installed but they suggested leaving it and doing another return/replacement, which I did. The third oven arrived the following Monday, and it was perfect! Whew!! I really was not put out in any way other than a few phone calls to Best Buy and "hosting the delivery guys" for about a half hour each time. I really appreciated the no-argument, let's get it right, approach that Best Buy had to this, even though they probably did not make much on this sale (probably lost money on it). I found a cheaper price from some appliance company in New York ($75 bucks cheaper total), but I can't imagine the nightmare of returns/replacements dealing with a vendor that far away with these same issues, had they occured. Nice Job Best Buy!

Great stove and we are a family that COOKS!

Posted by: from San Antonio, Texas on 01/27/2012We love everything about it - everything works like it should, everything is just what we hoped. The only downside is keeping the surface 'pretty' but we're getting used to it.

Excellent versatility for the space
5
Posted by: from Duluth, MN on 01/15/2012I've been pining for a double oven for some time, without the kitchen space to accommodate it. The double-oven free-standing ranges I'd looked at before looked problematic: in many cases, the smaller oven is too small to take even a loaf of bread; in all cases I've seen, the larger oven door opens at floor level. Who wants to be kneeling on the floor to pull out the turkey? Enter this Samsung: a double oven if you want, a full-sized oven if you need; with a stovetop warming center and a warming drawer to boot. This is innovation, and I'm glad I waited for it. I've had the oven for about 6 months now and been delighted with it. The features are terrific, and (to my mind) fairly intuitive. The smooth stove top gave me some pause: the instructions are full of admonitions to be careful not to scratch it, not to use too large a pan, and to use absolutely flat pans. So far I haven't had a problem except that the smooth black surface shows every little spill and grease spot. If you're a clean-freak you can stay entertained every evening cleaning up the evidence of your cookery. On the other hand, my electric-coil stove top collected just as much evidence; it just didn't show as well. This stove top routinely looks prettier than any stove top I've previously owned, and I've relaxed enough to not worry about every little smudge on a daily basis. I've learned that slightly-warped pots still are usable on this flat top. There may be some loss of efficiency because of reduced surface contact, but the water boils just fine anyway and the effect of seeing a pot with a rounded bottom rotate on the stove top is rather comical. I've also used cast iron, being careful to lift it before moving, with no evident scratching. Finally, the heating elements heat more evenly than my electric coils ever did; I can finally use my 13" All-Clad skillet to its full effect. I love the fact that 2 burners have multiple size selections (6" or 9" or, for the largest burner, something like 11 or 12"). This is not a unit for people who dislike complexity. While I find the range and ovens easy to use, my husband misses the simplicity of our old oven. Want to turn an old oven on? Turn a knob. Want to turn this oven on? First, select the oven in question if the divider is in; then tell it how you want to cook (convection bake, convection roast, broil, etc); then set the temperature. I find it intuitively easy. He finds it difficult. YMMV. If I could change one thing about this range, I'd add a bridge element between two burners so I could put an oblong pot or griddle across them. Still, that hasn't been a serious concern. My 7-quart French Oven works fine on the largest burner, as does the above-mentioned 13" skillet. (Note to home canners: a standard canning kettle WILL NOT FIT on this range. I haven't yet found a smooth-top stove that will take a canning kettle because of the kettle diameter.) The only other cautionary note I can think of is that the two oven chambers aren't truly independent. I knew that going in, and have not found it to be an issue. There are two reasons for their interconnection. First, there's only one door; if you open the door for one chamber, you'll let heat out of the other. Second, the divider is a good but not great insulator, so there's a limit to the difference in temperatures you can set between the two ovens: for instance, you can't have one oven set to 180 and the other set to 500. The manual spells it out, and the control panel won't allow you to pick incompatible temperatures. To my mind this minor inconvenience is more than offset by the versatility of being able to pick one larger or two smaller ovens. Furthermore, all the heating elements are hidden - in other words, it's easy to clean and all the space is usable. This isn't an inexpensive unit, and I started to give 4 stars for price. However, given the features and apparent reliability of this oven, I think it's a good value for the money. If you're thinking of buying a free-standing double oven, this will be money well spent.

Posted by: from New Hampshire on 01/13/2012The dual oven feature of this stove makes it worth every penny. I was able to cook several different items at once using different temps. Also can keep things in warming drawer at the same time. The burners heat up quickly and cook evenly. I baked three trays of Christmas cookies all at once and they all cooked perfectly in less time using the convection feature. It is a real joy to cook!

Posted by: from Virginia Beach, VA on 01/10/2012Have always wanted dual ovens, now I have them without losing the ability to cook in a full size oven. It's like having 3 ovens in 1! Everything about this stove is wonderful - multi size burners, convection & convention cooking, warming drawer, and it looks great too! Didn't take long to figure out the controls.

Posted by: from Denton, Md on 10/10/2011First stove I have purchased in over 25 years! Very satisfied - so far! The split oven, besides being so huge, is very versitile. Not sure if I am sold on ceramic cook tops yet, affraid I will scratch it or something. Product description mentions cord included, but it wasn't, had to buy one off the truck. Having the warming burner & and large drawer are a real plus.

Samsung Beautiful
5
Posted by: from Florida on 09/13/2011I started purchasing the Samsung products for my kitchen because they are beautiful and as we could afford them, one at a time, the stove completing the set. I haven’t had it very long but from what I can tell I’m very happy with my purchase. It’s a handy feature being able to broil garlic bread on the top while cooking lasagna on the bottom. However there is one thing that no one mentioned and you wouldn’t think of this until it was too late and the range is being delivered. My old range didn’t go all the way to the floor in the back and was able to straddle the electric box mounted on the floor. The Samsung range, because it has a functional warming drawer on the bottom, has a backing that does goes all the way to the floor. Therefore, our electric box that the range plugs into, sticks out from the wall about 3 to 4 inches. The range butts up next to the box, leaving a 3 to 4 inch gap between the back of the range and the wall. I will eventually have an electrician move the box over however due to the new safety precautions, there will be extra holes in my tiles. I am giving the range 5 stars because I really like how it looks and all the features, the other can be fixed.

One Cool-Hot range!
5
Posted by: from Iowa on 08/18/2011Just got our Samsung range this month and have used both the range and oven a few times so far. We replaced a very old, low-end White Westinghouse with coil elements so this is leaps and bounds from the old one. So far I love it! The elements heat up really instantly, the dials are very easy to use for each of the adjustable elements. We have not had to make minor adjustments in temp yet as spouse and I haven't prepared any complex dishes on it yet. The touch screen is not difficult; it's intuitive as we were able to cook on the range and set the oven temp and timer several times now without even opening the manual yet. We tried all of our cookware on the various sized elements and were surprised to find that all of our pots and pans, even our largest sized pans, fit perfectly on the either the smallest or the middle sized elements. And our very large oval shaped dutch oven fits on the largest (triple) element without any problem. We were worried about having to be super careful with the glass cooktop to avoid scratches when using cast iron pans but tried a square (with a not entirely smooth bottom) cast iron pan for frying. On first inspection, it looked as though it caused numerous scratches on the cooktop until we let it cool and started cleaning it and to our relief, all of the marks were soon removed by the polish and pad that came with the range and it was restored to its initial beauty, albeit with a fair amount of persistence/elbow grease. If you don't mind smudges on a glossy black surface and don't have light from a range hood light above shining down on it, the surface is easily cleaned. However, for those who are perfectionists like myself, persistence pays off with a beautiful glossy finish to be proud of. My cooktop can now be literally spotless in contrast to my old range which, despite my efforts, never seemed to be completely clean or free of baked on stuff. I am very relieved to find that those "metal marks," as Samsung puts it, are removable with a bit of scrubbing, and/or use of a razor blade before polishing. Splattered grease from frying hamburgers was not at all a problem on the stainless steel or on the ceramic cooktop as I feared, it does encourage good habits of cleaning the cooktop thoroughly after cooking each time. It is difficult to have to wait until it has cooled down to clean it off as you don't want food to stick and want to get on with doing other things outside of the kitchen, but I'm sure I'll adjust to that assuming food doesn't stick too much due to the wait. My spouse is dissatisfied with how easily the cookware slides around on the smooth cooktop and found it challenging when stirring food to keep the cookware from spinning around so will have to see if we adjust to that issue over time having used coil elements for several years. Polishing the cooktop to a glossy finish is likely only adding to this problem. The oven was a joy to use. The settings and touch screen are intuitive if you've become at all adept at using a few microwave ovens for simple tasks. The partition is the coolest idea ever! We had purchased the lower model and upgraded to this one shortly after placing our order when we found out about this double oven feature. We have only used the upper oven so far but look forward to preparing a meal and having the versatility of baking 2 items in 2 cook zones at the same time without having to sacrifice oven space for a double oven we will only use occasionally. With the dual convection baking and roasting, the warming drawer with multiple settings, the warming element on the cooktop, the single, double, and triple cooktop elements, and the self-cleaning oven, this range seems to do it all! The only I thing I could improve on it would be to add an induction element and a gas element and perhaps an oven that converts itself into a dishwasher to wash and dry the cookware after the meal! This range is incredibly thoughtful, innovative, and flexible. The oven alerts you when the desired temp is achieved and preheat was quick and effortless, displaying the rising temp on the display just in case you want to make sure it's doing its thing. Heating a frozen pizza was effortless, heating was uniform and no burned edges + cold toppings as I am so used to with my old range. It came out of the oven perfect. I will look forward to baking bread and roasting a chicken or leg of lamb and of course trying out the convection oven feature. And the ceramic partition stores conveniently inside the warming/storage drawer in a special slot made for it so it doesn't actually have to rest on the bottom of the drawer if you choose to use the drawer for storage. Our kitchen is open to the living room and dining room, and both the range and oven operate quietly and unobtrusively. Despite how powerful it seems, it's quieter than Samsung refrigerator which is itself super quiet. The alert beeps are loud enough to hear from the hallway but not too loud to be annoying. The electronic display and design of the range are very contemporary and stylish and I actually enjoy the looks and features of the range better than those of the the Samsung French Door with Flex Drawer Refrigerator I'd been coveting and bought just before purchasing this range, much to my surprise. The clock on the display is a nice feature, something I realized days earlier would have been nice on the Samsung Refrigerator display actually. The Best Buy installers were simply delightful, a rare comment these days, and the range installed in minutes while the refrigerator took about 2 hours. So far for this range, Love It, Love It, Love It! Will write more as we get more use out of it.

Great range
5
Posted by: from TN on 08/17/2011I was hesitant to buy this range because I could not find any reviews of it, but the features persuaded me. I am so glad I got it. The cooktop is wonderful, with lots of options for the eye size and the fast boil is great for my teapot. The double oven works as promised. I use the top most often and love how quickly it preheats and the broiler is great. I have cooked cookies in the bottom half and they cooked very evenly. I have yet to use the full over, but since I will probably only do that once a year a decided to go ahead and post this. Clean up of the top oven is especially easy since the divider just slides out and I can wipe it off over the sink. My only complaint is that the touch pad is not very sensitive and I really have to push hard to key in the temp and settings. There might be a reason for that so you don't accidentally bump it and turn it off, but I find it a little annoying to jam the buttons. Overall, I love this range and highly recommend it.

Great can use as a double or single oven

Posted by: from stockton, ca on 08/16/2011I ve had this range for about a month now. I love it. It is so great you can bake 2 different things at 2 different temperatures, but you can also use it as one big oven. Even with the partition the lower oven still is big enough for a small turkey 12-14 lb. This is new technology the first of its kind and so far it is great. I also love all the other features, a warming drawer with 3 temperatures and the cooktop having two burners that are expandable one has a 6/9/12 and the other a 6/9 which is a great feature. I would definitely recommend this range especially for someone who does alot of baking.
