Great for large laundry loads
5
Posted by: from Pacifica, CA on 05/10/2012I've only had this unit for less than a week, but have done about ten loads so far to catch up on almost two weeks of having no washer and dryer. (My fault for originally ordering it to the wrong address.) Due to the setup, the delivery men were unable to set it up. I went to the hardware store and bought longer hoses and an extension kit for the drain pipe. Easy for me, a 20-something female to install. Tested for leaks, and was good to go. I have washed clothes, towels, and bedding in various loads. Some loads were half capacity, a couple at the max, 3/4 full. The water level and agitation ensured all clothes were properly soaked, washed, and rinsed. Spin cycle gets them much dryer than my previous washer at the apartment. I use the packs of detergent (one HE pack put in the basin before you put in the laundry) and it does an amazing job. Due to allergies, I use the non-fragrance, colorless version. Laundry comes out smelling fresh and has never felt so soft. This has been a great investment, although I'd try to find them on sale, which seems to happen often. Or price match! Strongly recommend this product. Just make sure to not overfill the tub, and to distribute your laundry fairly evenly to avoid knocking. Also, due to the clear plastic top, even though it feels really strong, I don't feel comfortable putting anything heavier on top of it.

Quiet, efficient and cleans clothes really well.

Posted by: from Arlington Heights, IL on 04/30/2012We bought this washer after having an old-style standard agitator model forever. We still wanted a top loader but wanted to go HE. We reviewed other HE top loaders in a lower price range and they all seemed to have low ratings. This washer is easy to use, the directions aren't really that hard to read and understand. It cleans clothes really well, (they actually smell cleaner) is super quiet and spins more water out than our old washer (less drier time!). The tub is huge and we have washed our quilts in it. It uses less water than our old washer per load. I'm looking forward to seeing the difference in the water bill.

Expensive piece of junk
1
Posted by: from texas on 04/27/2012I've read ALOT of reviews AFTER I purchased this product. Stupid me. The main issue I had with this unit was the water temperature. Like the others said, the water does NOT get hot. Samsung tried to tell me the water heats up while it's washing. Wrong! I physically stood in front of the machine, while it ran thru the Normal cycle. The cycle was 50 minutes long, and I checked the temp in 4 minute intervals. The water was barely tepid. Samsung tried to say it was because of the sensors in the machine, then it changed to my fault and my water wasn't flowing right. Well, I've NEVER had a problem with my hot water and I shouldn't have to fight with the darn thing. For my clothes to wash in hot water, I had to turn off the cold water completely, THEN let it fill up with nothing but hot water. I shouldn't have to do that either. As far as the water level, I know it's energy efficient, however you have to split your loads in half. So, are you REALLY saving money? I can usually wash all the clothes in 4 loads, with this washer - 8 loads. I might save water, maybe, but not electricity. BOTTOM LINE: If you want to wash with hot water, don't buy this machine!

So quiet I forget when it's on!!!

Posted by: from on 04/18/2012This machine was just what we were looking for. Yes it's quiet, but it doesn't destroy my clothes like my old washer did!! My clothes are treated so delicately yet cleaned so thoroughly. Best bang for your buck!

Great washer!
5
Posted by: from Medina, Ohio on 04/13/2012I love this washer! I can do big loads enabling me to get my laundry done quickly! I have teenage kids so I have a lot of laundry. It gets things clean. I was worried after reading other reviews about the water level not being enough but it is fine. It has an extra rinse setting if you are concerned about that. the controls are easy to use. It has settings for towels and bedding. It is large enough to wash a comforter or sleeping bags and because there is no agitator they do not get damaged. The worst thing about it is reaching in to get everything back out its so huge! I absolutely love this washer!

First HE Machine - Very Happy with Purchase
4
Posted by: from Twinsburg, OH on 04/10/2012This is my first HE machine and I'm very happy with my purchase. It has a large capacity and is very quiet - sometimes I check to make sure it's working because it's so quiet. I was skeptical because it uses less water and the HE detergent doesn't suds up like traditional detergent but I can honestly say my clothes are much cleaner! I'm also happy that it doesn't "beat up" your clothes as an agitator does. I agree with another review, if you take the time to read the manual and understand how the machine works, then you will be happy with your purchase.

Terrible would not recommend to ANYONE!!
1
Posted by: from on 04/02/2012I have had this washing machine for less than 1 month and I am on washing machine #2! I am returning the 2nd one along with the dryer (I will not have mismatched washer and dryer). The washing machine will NOT wash rugs or blankets without getting off balance!! Very unacceptable!! My washer has been broken more than it had worked!!

No Hot Water on Normal Cycle
2
Posted by: from MN on 03/31/2012Overall we enjoy this washing machine, it does a great job washing clothes, uses plenty of water etc we haven't had many of the problems that you might see people ranting about, most of which boil down to reading the users manual.. The one major problem we have with this machine is the fact that when you select the normal cycle and 'hot' water temp, you will never get hot water. We exchanged our first machine for a second, the second one did the same thing. I went back and forth with Samsung on the phone and finally got them to send someone for a service call. The service man agreed that the water was nowhere near 'hot'. He called and talked to Samsung, and was told that this is just how the washer was designed. I understand they are trying to design washers that can be energy star certified, however, when the consumer is given the option to choose hot water, and the machine doesn't deliver, there is something wrong. My user manual states that the target wash temps for 'hot' water fall between 105 and 125 F the washing machine will get nowhere close to that on the normal cycle or the heavy duty cycle, both cycles that allow you to select hot. .. half of the people from Samsung tech service couldn't tell me what the temperature ranges were... even though they are published in the users manual. The only cycles that will fill with hot water are the 'towels', sanitize (which takes 2 hours), and the pure cycle (which isn't used for washing clothes)... It seems to me , that when you spend a good amount of money on a brand new, fancy, hi-tech washing machine, when you select 'hot' you should get hot water. I know that hot water is not as energy friendly has using cold water, and I know that you can wash almost everything in cold water with detergents that are made now. what this boils down to is the principle of the matter, when I select Hot, I want hot water. It has nothing to do with the proximity to the water heater,or the temperature of the water heater. I can crank up the water heater and turn the tap on right next to the washing machine until the water is 150F. I start the normal cycle on the machine with 'hot' water selected, end fill temp is 75F. Nowhere close to target temperatures. Samsung is misleading customers in allowing them to actually select the 'hot' water temp. I would be perfectly fine if that option was not available on cycles that aren't going to get to the correct temperature anyways. It seems to me that a simple reprogrammed control board would fix this problem. I'm guessing there is a computer running the machine, all Samsung needs to do is let that computer know it's ok for the water to actually be hot on when the user selects hot water. So buyer beware. If you are someone who feels the need to wash with hot water, DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE. You can get hot water on the towels cycle, however Samsung told us that if we were to wash things other than heavy towels, or heavy loads, we could damage the machine. We want to use hot water to wash cloth diapers. Yes we could use the sanitize cycle, however it takes 2 hours. We should be able to use the normal cycle with hot water selected, that just isn't the case. I'm not going to give up yet on Samsung, but I don't know how much good it will do. TLDR: No hot water on normal cycle, no matter what you do. Samsung customer service has not been very helpful in the whole situation, most of the service techs I talked to gave conflicting information. One even tried to tell me that the water actually heated up during the spin cycle (it doesn't).

Great washer if you know how to use it
5
Posted by: from Herndon, VA on 03/26/2012There are a lot of comments on this washer. I read them all as well as consumer reports ( "best buy" recomendation). I don't really want to repeat all of the gripes regarding water level. Yes the water level is not the same as a "traditional" washer, but that is not what you are purchasing. I have a very large family and it has reduced my water bill and the clothes are cleaner. As stated in my summary, you must use the correct soap ( a little extra is not helpfull) and you must read the manual. The only spot I gave a lower mark is features. I would like to have a soak cycle as other have stated, but the extra rinse cycle is a good work around.

Great Washer with a Large Load Capacity
5
Posted by: from Roebling, NJ on 03/22/2012So far I am extremely pleased with this washer. The large capacity was the enticing factor and it has fulfilled our needs. I was highly impressed with the engineering that went in to this washer and had spent a few loads observing the action through the glass top. I am happy so far but longevity will be the key.

What an improvement over an agitator machine
5
Posted by: from New Jersey on 03/21/2012After retiring an 18 year old Whirlpool, checked Consumers ratings and found this was a top rated machine. Read the reviews and found the machine on sale. Very pleased with the wash results, clothes are treated well - still amazed they get clean without an agitator. Uses less water, very quiet and clothes come out spun so well they take less drying time. Very pleased.

Great clean wash
5
Posted by: from MN on 03/15/2012Unbelievable agitation of clothing. Everything got clean, including dirty diapers, king size comforter, delicates. Chhose a gentler spin than you think you should because it REALLY spins-almost dry. Only complaint - cannot change your mind about ANYTHING (temp, spin speed, soil level) once the cycle has started...You have to go back to the the power off, power on...then all the water, detergent, etc is whooshed away. So be absolutely sure of cycle of choice. AND the glass top fogs up - it could easily have been just a plain metal lid. The capacity and workhorse-ability is GREAT.

In love with this washer !!
5
Posted by: from Philadelphia,Pa on 02/27/2012This is a quiet, efficient, large capacity washer. It does every cycle imaginable -and handles a king size comforter with ease !! You can even create your own cycle if needed for special care items. Would recommend this washer to everyone. Get the top loader - no problems like you will have with front loaders. And, you can pause the cycles to add items you might have forgotten to add to the load ! Also plays a cute melody when cycles are finished !!

The Way2 Go
5
Posted by: from Richmond, Va on 02/22/20124 yrs ago i purchase a Whirlpool Cabrio, I was please at first until after 1yr & 2 repairs I was upset. My warranty was finished last year 2011 so last month it needed repair AGAIN!!!. The UL lights & spinning cycle was going to cost me $600.00. I said no way so I went online to look for another washing machine. After viewing a couple of sites and reviews I narrow it down to LG & Samsung. After seeing them in person I was impress with the Samsung with the size & space of tub. I read the reviews and went for it. 3 days later I rcvd my wonderful machine and tried it out. My kids and I was amazed of the flow of the water & spinning which u cant hear. It's soooo quite & ez 2 use. We love it. All the clothes gets wet no matter what level we have it on. Now I only hope it last longer than 4 yrs.
