Great "Dumb" HDTV5

I just wanted a big tv for under $1k after my 2006 LG 50" blew up. I have a PS3, Wii, & Xbox w/ Kinect, so I don't need another app machine, or motion tracking device. I just need a really big monitor. Didn't realize what I was missing... although, now, I wonder what that 90" would look like in my house :)- Internet Connectable? : Don't Know

This TV is great for the money!! I was wary to pull the trigger on this TV and really did my research. It was between this and a Samsung LED, but I am glad I stuck with the plasma. I had a 46" Samsung LCD already in the living room and a 42" Plasma in my bedroom, so I was torn to purchase an LED or the Plasma. All of my TVs are Samsung, so quality was not a concern.
What people may dislike is the large base. It is an X shape and was too large to put on my fireplace mantle (where I had my LCD) without tipping forward. I just put the first part of the base in the back of the TV and rigged a nice mounting system to keep the TV from falling forward. I do have a wall mount, but since my fireplace/chimney flue is right behind, I wasn't confident in mounting it to the wall. Plus then I would have to bury my cords. I have plastic channeling to hide the cords now and since their is only 2 HDMI ports and 1 power, there is less of them to bury. The channeling just doesn't go to where I would have to mount the TV and that stuff isn't very cheap.
If you have a receiver (which I do, with 5 HDMI ports) and you know how to set up AV equipment, game consoles, HTPCs, then this is not a deal breaker. This TV is perfect. If anyone has looked at a LED, then the comment of "It looks TOO real" will make a lot of sense to you. I just couldn't force myself to get used to it. I'm sure I would, but maybe next time I buy a TV. I couldn't pass up on a 60" Samsung Plasma for less than $1000 with tax. Plus I don't need a Smart TV if I have my Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii for entertainment. My Xbox is my main hub for apps anyway. So to sum it up......awesome deal!!- Internet Connectable? : No

Too Much Reflection3

A wonderful screen image, but just beware where you place it. Way too much reflection on the screen for my location so it was returned. If you have a location without bright light sources anywhere in front of the TV to reflect on the screen, then this is an excellent choice. My only issue with Samsung is that it is advertised with - "The clear image technology feature provides anti-reflection for a better viewing experience." I wanted the image quality of a plasma but was fearful of the reflection issue, so Samsung's advertising prompted me to make the online purchase. However, the screen is no more anti-reflective than any other Samsung plasma model. Won't recommend it for this reason, but if your location is suitable, then go for it.- Internet Connectable? : No

Where do I begin. Been shopping for a few months. Replacing a 10 year old Mitz 55 in the basement. Did not want to go LED based on its brightness & contrast levels.Toss up between Panasonic & Samsung.I did not like the fact there was not a 55 inch Panasonic within my price point, however I found this plasma Samsung 60 inch so I took a shot and man what a beautiful TV. A very thin plasma and the color accuracy is amazing. Salesman told me it was a newer plasma that they just received. Two HDMI inputs is not a big deal if you hook up with a receiver. A bare bone no frills plasma that rivals the Panasonic brand.Enjoy!5 out of 5 found this review helpful.

Great TV, Great Price!5

Being a Plasma, I assumed the physical size was going to be significantly thicker than an LED. While at the store, I didn't even check the thickness. Once I got home and unboxed it, I was amazed by how thin this plasma is compared to other plasma, and even some LED TVs.
Video quality is excellent. My only disappointment was that there is no analog audio out (only digital). This made hooking up my gaming headset a bit more difficult.
Overall, wonderful TV, and great value for a 60" Plasma!- Internet Connectable? : No
