This was going to be perfect! Inexpensive, small and lots of features. I bought it o watch a movie sometimes after my little boy went to bed. So you might think this is an exaggeration, but I kid you not! Not only did the grinding, rumbling sound between chapters WAKE my son up in the other room, the constant whirring was louder than my TV at 20% volume... The fan or whatever it is, was louder than a microwave. I need to be semi-quiet for my light sleeper, but i ended up with a migraine(!) and a wide awake kiddo. Wanted to love it. I bought this under the impression that Samsung was good brand, which it is. However, I'm deeply disappointed in this one. I bought, I thought for a fairly decent price. Every single disc I put in to watch, the dvd player would skip horribly to the point where I could only watch 5 seconds of the movie before getting upset. I put in a BRAND NEW disc and I ended up skipping chapters of the movie because it would skip terribly and get stuck. I would actually have to shut it off and turn it back on to advance to the next chapter. Please stick a little extra money into your electronics and DO NOT buy this one! They don't make things like they used to. My $20 dvd player just died after 5 years....this Samsung doesn't even compare to it.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

After I put a DVD in, it says there is NO disc. I've tried a couple. Then Best Buy (?) says after 15 day's, they will not do anything. They use the date that UPS handed it to USPS. So beware of bestbuy.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

I bought this to replace my broken 11 year old Sony, and it made it about 11 minutes before I decided that I didn't want it . This thing is total junk. It's very small and light which isn't bad except that the door is so powerful when it opens it almost launches the player off the shelf. To make matters worse, when the disc is in the player it makes an obnoxiously loud whirring sound and a constant chipping as it's playing. More still, it has a lot of useless functions, I wanted a DVD player, not a PC. I want to be able to put a disc in the player and watch it, not have to go through tons of extra steps to select that I put a disc in the player, that it is a DVD, and that I want it to go to the DVD menu.11 out of 12 found this review helpful.

I bought 2 of these in November 2012, one for our master bedroom & one for our sons room. They both work great for this type of room. Didn't really need blue ray for the bedrooms, so we were quite happy with the picture quality and simplicity as well as the affordable price.3 out of 3 found this review helpful.
