Other tablets are nice, but I didn't want to spend $500 for something that my phone or laptop already does. I wanted a tablet that had new and innovative features, not a larger iPod. When I saw the capabilities of the Galaxy Note I IMMEDIATELY knew that this was what I was waiting for. I can now sit in a meeting, pull out the Pen, and take notes just like pen and paper. I can also do it while having several other live apps on the screen at the same time. VERY productive and useful business tool. Plus SD for expansion, infrared so I can use it as a remote for my tv/satellite, and the camera is actually really good too. You Apple fans our there will probably think I'm just saying this, but the truth is that several of my friends/associates who currently have iPads have been drooling over the capabilities of my Note. So glad I waited for this! I've had it for several months now and am just now writing this review because I wanted to put it through some use before making any comments. Also, hardware wise it has a very quality feel to it. No creaking or anything when you pick it up and use it. For business use I honestly feel that nothing can compare right now. I've been tweaking/rooting/modifying Android devices for several years now so I know a top quality device when I see and use one. I hope this helps anyone who's shopping for a tablet.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and its the same thing but in tablet form which I love. I use it to put my school books on it so I do not have to carry around so many books. I also love the remote control TV app that comes already installed on the tablet, great feature.

Fantastic tablet with the best stylus

My biggest complaint is that I could not get it with verizon WiFi so I am alwys hooking it up and I dont have a shortcut for that. Not a dealbreaker just a pain. Originally had the 7" and I am glad I upgraded. 10" is much more fun.

I was very pleased with it for years, but always longed for the ability to hand-write notes in meetings. The stylus available for capacitive screens are too fat/slow/draggy for them to be practical for this purpose, so I gave up....
Fast forward several years, my original iPad is now long overdue for an upgrade and is crashing regularly thanks to a number of newer apps that are optimized for IOS 6.x and no longer work well (if at all) on the older first gen iPad. This puts me back in the market for tablets and I come across the Samsung with its stylus. After playing with it in the store for an hour or longer (driving the poor salesguy mad) I decided at half the price of the iPad I have to give this a try.
A month in and I am not disappointed. Finally I can easily take notes in meetings on my tablet and forward them to evernote for long-term storage and retrieval. Everyting else on the tablet works very nicely, although I have to confess the email/calendar/task ecosystem is still slicker in the iPad world.
My only real complaint is that the rear cover is flimsy plastic and makes the unit less rigid than my iPad. It feels "cheap". This was solved easily by putting the tablet in a rigid leather case/stand and it now has the professional look & feel I wanted.
