great display, love the size5

I was a little concerned about the size at first, though i liked having a bigger screen. it is a little bulky for a pocket, but fits fine and well worth it for the great display. nice to watch movies on when traveling and takes great pics and movies as well. the micro sd card slot is a huge plus as well vs. having to buy a more expensive version just to get more memory. android device so plenty of options for apps, games, etc. battery also works very long even when playing movies or streaming from netflix. i was also concerned about that when purchasing, but no issue there at all. native speaker is not great, but rarely use that. sound is good with headphones. i would highly recommend this product, though when looking at devices i've found best buy to be not helpful at all.- Age Range : 35-44

I love my Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0!! I have owned Apple MP3 players in the past and this Galaxy goes way above!! You buy it with the standard 8GB of memory but can expand with a micro SD card up to 32 GB...can't do that with Apple products! The larger size makes it easier to play games and surf the web. The camera takes great pictures...I just haven't found out how to zoom yet...don't think it has the capability to do so :( I wish it had a 3G option for connecting to the web, but the WiFi does the trick for me since a lot of places offer free WiFi access. The Android Market is very competitive with the iTunes market and has a lot of the same apps. I haven't used the GPS much on it but was told by the sales person that it is very accurate and works without internet connection. I am hoping to use that feature more in the future and get rid of the GPS in my car. The Galaxy makes sharing photos to Facebook, Twitter, etc VERY easy. I even figured out how to convert my iTunes music to Windows Media Player so I could get the music from my iPod over to my Galaxy. It's awesome!! Overall, I am very pleased with my Galaxy. The value for your money is by far greater than purchasing an Apple product. I got it on sale for $219 and it was worth every penny. If I ever decide to buy a tablet or smart phone, it will definitely be a Samsung Galaxy!!!!- Age Range : 25-34

I bought this for my son after his DELL tablet broke within 1 day (and DELL wanted to charge me 2x what is cost me to buy it to fix it). I love the bigger size (compared to an ipod)... but still highly portable. The graphics are nice and the sound is pretty clear as long as you don't crank it up. Better then the KINDLE because of the camera and video options... better then the ipod because of the expandable memory options ... I am happy!- Age Range : 25-34

last couple of players have been Zunes. Was forced to switch
but no regrets..You have to be in range of a hot spot for the WiFi
features to work. but is nice to not to have a monthly fee.
Sound quality is great (own an Iphone) Included earbuds are as good
or better than what came with my iphone. Only complaint, Have used media player to sync music. not all of my album art comes accross
and displays. Have not experimented with the included music software. Rear camera is great front facing also a nice feature.- Age Range : 45 and up

Perfect tablet for my needs5

I have a 7 inch android tablet, but it's too big to take along when I am outside so the GPS and camera are really not very useful. A smart phone would be portable enough, but I don't use a phone often enough to justify the cost of a contract with a data plan. My Trac phone works just fine, thank you. Also, most are too small for easy web browsing or reading (67 year old eyes).
For me, the Galaxy 5 is a perfect compromise. It's easy to carry in a pocket when I'm out and about and I can take it along when I'm biking or walking to keep track of distance and speed with the GPS. I find it easy to read and use the screen except when I am in direct sunlight. The bluetooth works well for listening to music and the GPS works fine. This is going to be an everyday device for me.
If you want a tablet you can actually take along to use during the day, this is it.- Age Range : 45 and up

Except for audio quality, a decent PMP2

I found the Galaxy Player to be a decent media player, allowing me to keep my Zune HD in the car for the daily commute.
However, it was when I plugged in a set of ear buds that I noticed what could only be described as a hissing in the quiet parts of tracks. After trying several other tracks to only hear the same bad background hiss, I exchanged the player for another.
With the second player, the hiss was also present. I then purchased ,a new set of headphones (Sennheiser closed ear type) suspecting it was the ear buds which were defective. With the headphones, the hiss was still present, but even more noticeable. Even with other downloaded media player apps from the Google Play store, the hiss remained and led me to conclude that this was not problem which I could solve. I elected to return the product, as having two players with the same problem had soured me on the item.- Age Range : 35-44

This is a great "little" device. It is easy to use, loaded with features, and has a huge screen. Bought for going on trips, saw everyone packing around ipads in Disneyland and thought " I need one". But I didn't want to lug around that beast. This thing however will fit in a pocket and has a screen big enough to make it usable. The GPS feature sold it, if you are planning a trip you will need wi-fi to plot the directions, but it will do turn by turn after it's been plotted. The audio is sufficient but not as good as the ipod. Video suffers a little due to the size, and that they didn't bump up the resolution from the 4 inch version. They also went with a lcd instead of a amoled screen. Of course it runs Android and has more gadgets, games, and goodies than you can shake a stick at. Overall I'm very happy with it and would recommend it to any one who doesn't want to get roped into another contract. If you want to upgrade your phone and size isn't a concern go for the Samsung Note.- Age Range : 35-44

This is an awesome MP3 player! It has everything, almost like a phone... It has a SD card slot for more music. It's pretty fast to navigate and simple to use. I've been having this for 3 months now and so far I hadn't had any problems, except an occasional freeze. You will not regret buying this:D- Age Range : 17 & under

Highly recommend this device for Android lovers who want a step up from the 'A-pod touch'. I love the competitor, but the speed, ease of use, functionality and size of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 5" is superior for those wanting something between the size of an 'Apod touch' and a full tablet.- Age Range : 35-44

I do not have a smart phone so I wanted something that I could carry around and use as an mp3 player, listen to Pandora, check my email and Facebook and play Plants vs Zombies. This is perfect. Love it so much!! I use it to listen to Pandora all day at work as well as watch movies on it during lunch/breaks and I still have about half the battery when I get home. Very Impressed!!7 out of 7 found this review helpful.

Got this for my son, and I'm really impressed with it. I've never owned an Ipod, but I do have an old Zune player. The sound and video quality is so superior, and he's happy with the gingerbread version. It's very responsive, and easy to use. It doesn't take HD video, but it still does a good job. The camera is only 3.2 mega pixel, but it does have a built in flash. The picture quality is superior to my old Optimus V 3.2. My son is very happy, and my other kids are already wanting one. Guess they have to get in to Governor's School too or wait until Christmas.- Age Range : 17 & under

Fantastic Design and Value for the Price5

The virtual keys, their functions, the size of the display (the missing link in the evolution from tiny smart phone to clumsy iPad), the display resolution, the Android Market, the truly intuitive user-friendliness, all make this gadget a joy to use. So much so that I have already bought a second one in case something this good leaves the electronic market-place and I drop or otherwise do something careless with the original.- Age Range : 45 and up
