Samsung Infuse is ok
2
Posted by: from Pine Bluff, AR. on 04/19/2012I actually thought that I was getting a better phone from the Samsung Galaxy. The Infuse was totally over-rated. It has some good qualities, but most are all bad to me. I wish I would have tried another phone.

Long battery life & large screen.

Posted by: from Enterprise, AL on 04/11/2012Screen is one of the largest, and easy to use. Battery life is excellent. I do a lot of talking, texting, and some apps; and can usually go 2 days without needing to recharge. Photo quality is superb. The only issue I have had is with texting. So far, I have not figured out how to change settings so that it will allow me to type a message with a word that has more than one capital letter, such as NASA, MD, FHA, etc. I have not read the online manual, but so far it is not an obvious setting adjustment. I ABSOLUTELY recommend getting the Otter Box Defender case with it. Just 4 days after I got the phone, my daughter drove across town with it on the hood of her car. It did not slide off. Most of all, you can't beat the AT&T upgrade price through Best Buy (FREE).

Had problems, but seem resolved now.

Posted by: from South Florida on 03/15/2012Let me say right off the bat that I'm now on my THIRD Infuse 4G, but this one seems to be OK. First one had reception problems - both cell signal and WIFI. Second one had battery problems - after conditioning the battery it wouldn't hold a charge. I guess the third time is the charm. I do understand that when I purchased this, I was buying into "older" technology (it had been on the market for 9 or 10 months) but it was still getting good reviews, and the price was right. This is my first "smartphone" and I really like the flexibility of this type of device. In the past I had "just -a- phone" and also had to carry a PDA to keep appointments and other info. Now one device does it all for me and that makes me happy. Not sure if they're still making the Infuse given the incredible number of Android devices that seem to hit the market every month. but even considering the problems I had with the first two, I still like it. Not sure I would recommend this item to anyone, but wouldn't hesitate to recommend one of the newer Samsung phones to anyone who didn't want to drink the Apple "Kool Aid".

OK phone.

Posted by: from PA on 03/15/2012The battery does not seem to last very long and the phone's physical size is larger than I like. The display is difficult to see in the sunshine. The phone seems to function well. I like the calendar operations.

You'll Love This Phone
5
Posted by: from Northbrook, IL on 03/14/2012I went from an old Motorola Razor to this phone and had no trouble adapting to an android smart phone. I kept hearing that the android system might be harder to learn than an IPhone but I didn't find it so. Just by playing with the phone, you can figure out what you need to know and then some. I love the large screen and the beautiful bright clear images. Very good sound quality too. Apps are easy to find and download. It comes with a ton of apps built in. There are seven screen pages to put your apps onto so you can customize your app pages. You can even download an app that is like Siri on the IPhone. It's called voice search, it's free, and you can ask it questions and it will display the answers. It's great for cheating on crossword puzzles. There are many other great features on this phone but you should check it out and see for yourself. Mine was free with a two year contract extension.

Great phone, but i got some duds
3
Posted by: from Valrico, FL on 03/12/2012This was my first smart phone and I have had Samsung products before including cell phones. Normally I am very happy with their products. Unfortunately, this time around i was not. I did alot of research on this phone before choosing it. It was only a $1 and I got a $50 dollar gift card upon purchase which I used to buy the black tie protection and buyback program and still walked away with $8.25. Within 2 weeks of receiving the product it began having screen issues. I went back to the store and they had to transfer one from another store because they began phasing this product out. Once I received my second phone I had it less then a week and it also began having screen issues. Like i said before I did alot of research before choosing this phone. It had a very low radiation rating (known as SAR and it was only .20) where high is considered 1.5 to 1.6. The phone took some amazing pictures and made my girlfriends Iphone 4 camera look like quite a step down in comparison. CNET.com gave the phone very high reviews 8's and 9's. They are normally a good site for item reviews. When the product worked it was great, large screen, picked up my finger presses well, great camera, and very customizable. Maybe I just got some bad ones because I haven't heard of similar issues with others and the phone.

HUGE Screen!
4
Posted by: from Wake Forest, NC on 03/02/2012I made the transformation from the Iphone to the Droid Platform and LOVE IT! Granted, the Iphone is popular but I was frustrated with Sync'ing problems and hate that whole ITunes-to-Iphone link. The #1 thing that attracted me to the Samsung was the HUGE SCREEN! Is is awesome! Especially when watching videos or viewing images. The camera is GREAT and I love the whole Droid MarketPlace Cloud Platform for the apps, movies, books, etc. The ONLY 'knock' I have on the hardware of this phone is the microphone gets muffled if you hold the phone up to your shoulder while speaking. But heck! It beats the dropped calls on the Iphone when my shoulder would hit the 'End Call' touchbutton on the Iphone!

Not perfect, but overall very happy with purchase!

Posted by: from Massillon, OH on 03/01/2012Purchased this phone for $1 as an AT&T contract renewal upgrade. Have owned it for a little over one month. First fully functional smart-phone I have owned. Pros: Very large, crisp, bright and clear screen. Touch screen sensitivity is much better than other phones I have used. Still picture quality is excellent and it has a flash! Loads of functionality and pre-loaded apps. Not to mention, the large availability of apps from the Android Marketplace. Standard features you would expect: 4G, wireless, GPS, bluetooth. Great savings on a case and screen protector included! Best Buy customer service was excellent! Cons: 3G/4G transition seems to make data transfer way too slow. Wireless antenna is sufficient when in the vicinity of a connection, but needs more range. Battery life seems lower than expected, but has improved some after continued use; I do not have a power management app installed, so I am sure that would help extend battery life. Video quality seems a little laggy; could be better, but is acceptable for a phone.

Good intro into smart phones
4
Posted by: from Orlando, FL on 02/29/2012This phone is fairly easy to use by an older, first time smart phone user. Most simple functions are easy to understand. Sound and visual aspects of the device are very good. Reception is very good. Really great pictures and videos, I can leave my HD camera at home now.

Great Phone!
5
Posted by: from Fort Worth, Texas on 02/27/2012I got this phone for my son, upgrading from a Windows Phone. Wow, what a difference. I have an iPhone 4, so I am now officially jealous of my son's phone. The huge 4.5" screen is great and it's FAST! The screen resolution is great, as is the call quality and reception. The camera works well, although my iPhone beats this camera as in macros for automatically adjusting the settings in low light conditions. The battery life is great on this phone as well. The apps we have tried so far all worked fine. Email works great and zero problems after almost two months of use.

Posted by: from Lisle, IL on 02/26/2012Have had multiple smart phones over the years, including an HTC Inspire 4G which I had exchanged for this Samsung Infuse. The screen is nice, big and bright, and the phone itself is slim and light. That's all I would consider appealing about the phone. When actually using it, there is too much wrong with it. WiFi reception is weak (weaker than the HTC). Settings are much more restrictive (not able to automatically select widgets from the pull-down for home screen placement). No control soft-button for turning Data connection on/off (WiFi and Bluetooth can be done, just not for AT&T 3G/4G). Keypad visual design is quite poor. Overall, not happy. I will be changing this back for the HTC Inspire shortly.

Performs great & well put together
5
Posted by: from Mineral Wells, TX on 02/18/2012I love the size of the screen, viewing is easy on the eyes. I thought at first that it would be too bulky. However, the Infuse is surprisingly lightweight, much so that I often find myself searching for my phone in my pocket thinking I had misplaced it. The Android Technololgy is AWESOME!!!! I am a crossover----former Iphone user who become disenchanted with hoopla of the Iphone, too much hype and not enough performance! Compared to the Iphone---the major drawback with the Android Technology are their very slow updates with the operating systems. I am waiting patiently for the new 4.0 OS to be released. Overall, I LOVE THE INFUSE!!!!

Its ok, but a little sluggish internet
2
Posted by: from Colorado on 02/15/2012The internet is pretty slow on this phone. If you are an application user this phone may not be the best fit. The application take for ever to open and time out frequantly. However, the call quality is great. It is also difficult to find the appropriate accessories for this phone.
