Once installed, which only took about two minutes, the drive spins up nice and quiet. The performance of this drive is roughly 20% faster than the one it replaced which was the same brand from a year ago and smaller capacity. This drive has been running 24/7 for over a month now without issue.

This is a retail package and comes with a SATA cable, LP4 to SATA power adapter, CD with software to clone your old drive to your new drive, and a small sheet of instructions.

Easy, quick replacement for an old XP machine

Opened up the PC, connected this drive with the included Sata cable to an open Sata port on the motherboard and had the failing drive imaged to this new drive in less than 30min. Rebooted the PC from newly imaged drive, logged in and all was well. Drive installed easily and performance was perhaps slightly better than the original drive.

I was kinda nervous that i might not be able to solved or replaced my old one since i never done it before,,all im relying is the video i watch on "How to" remove and install plus reinstalling my OS,doing a fresh install. Really amazed that i didnt even bother using the software provided since windows realized it on the beginning. Till now i never had any problems with this drive and i was happy with it...All that im wishing is,,,i wish i just jump on the 1TB Baraccuda instead of this 500 GB..but anyway thats my fault though,,lol,,Still,im satisfied with the way it performs and it operates really quiet.Maybe next time...Surely ill buy this brand again.

Great Replacement HDD

Posted by: from Houston, TX on 05/11/2013I purchased this HDD to replace a failing 320GB 5400 RPM HDD for business purposes. I cloned the original (so as not to start completely over). It is working flawlessly right now. Time of course will tell. I normally run Windows Defragmentation every week to keep the drive as fresh as possible. I have personally not had many issues with this brand as I build and repair computers all the time.
