Value for money4

A wifi connectivity would have been highly appreciated. Speed seems slow but may be ok with the amount of data it handles. Value for money definitely. I like it.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

The storage capacity is beyond my expectations5

This external hard drive was purchased to upgrade my computer's storage capacity. We're still installing data on it, but it is quite responsive. The storage capacity is wonderful and so reassuring to know that it automatically backs up the data from the computer.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

does not work with Windows Backup1

Wanted to use this with a newer system using Windows Backup. But Microsoft only works with 512 sector size. According to Seagate support this drive only does 4K and cannot be changed. They say there "is no way to change the sector seize [sic] as the high aerial density is what allows us to have such a large capacity drive". If you need a 3TB to work with Windows Backup get a Western Digital. They supposedly provide software that will allow theirs to be formatted to work with the Microsoft backup software.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

Horrible Buy1

I have the latest drivers and running a solid server as I am a developer and I need all the Horse Power I can get.
This drive almost was a dream come true to me until I used it.
Because of the way the drive sectors are setup by Seagate, this product DOES NOT work with windows 7 image backup.
Additionally, any and every time the computer went to sleep, I had to unplug the drive from its USB 3.0 port after waking up for the drive to power back up.
I thought that I had a defective unit, but after contacting the manufacturer and doing some searches online, I found out that this is actually normal and apparently Seagate is OK with it.
Seriously, who builds a drive that has to be unplugged and replugged after a computer goes to sleep? lol
Sorry, I just found that to me an amusing response from Seagate. I went ahead and exchanged it for an internal SATA 6gb/s drive instead.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.
