Sharp Aquos 90" Sharp

Posted by: DavidD_BBYStaff44 from Clermont, FL on 10/08/2012Picture Quality: With buying a TV, today, you will find there are many to choose from. For most, the biggest television is required. This one, being the largest mass produced TV, is one envied by most. The coloration is fantastic. High Definition content is well viewed on the large screen. Blu-Ray, DirecTV HD-Channels, Cable HD-Channels, Over-The-Air HD-Channels all come in crystal clear. Be wanred, however, that when a non-High Definition source such as your regular channels, DVD movies not being upconverted, etc this thing will look horrible. Because there are large pixels, you will see the pixelation in any format that is not capable of the 1920 x 1080p resolution. Another drawback is in the lighting works. Behind the screen, it is rear-lit LED. This would usually give a uniformed brightness throughout the screen. However, on a larger size TV you will be hard pressed to find one that has a Full LED array, especailly for only $10K. This one uses dome lighting. Where LED lights are placed behind white plastic domes. The domes are then lit up to light up the screen. Certain areas will be darker than others. Hard to locate without a fine overlook. Most can't tell the difference. Sound Quality. The sound on any slim TV even the larger sizes are always atrocious. If going in anything larger than a 14x14ft room, make sure to get supplemental sound. Not only will get you get a more diverse sound, but, also a louder sound so that others can hear the screen. Features: Never been partial to the way that Sharp operates their so-called smart apps. They are not upgradeable, and only offer basic "Smart" functionality. However, Netflix, Pandora, Hulu, and youtube are available and very easily accessed throught the remote. However, you get more choice out of a Samsung set. I still, however, would recommend gettiong a Roku box, as they are more suited for Smart television apps than most tv's and have an easy to use interface.

Makes the 65" look tiny

Posted by: Quinlan303 from Seattle, WA on 06/26/2012Sits next to a 65GT50 in the store and it makes than TV look inadequate. $10G is a pretty fat price tag too considering the 80" with the same features is $4500 I'm currently using the box as a mattress.
