    Posted by: from Charlottesville, VA on 05/10/2013I upgraded from the XM Snap to this one because I missed the ablility to customize more stations and I missed a more intuitive interface. I'm not remotely disappointed at all! I had a Sirius Stiletto several years back that gave me the ability to tag songs or artists when they came on a certain station. I miss that. However, I LOVE the TuneMix feature that automatically hops back and forth between 5 stations on that page of favorites to play a different song every time the song you're listening to ends. The ability to record shows, have internet radio, and to have team alerts is absolutely awesome. It does occasionally have a few glitches because it does run on the Android platform, (ie. it thinks I'm touching the touch screen when I'm not really touching it) but the software updates over WiFi has taken care of a lot of those problems. I highly recommend this receiver!

What was then a "why should I pay for radio when it's free" has now become "I love commercial free radio"! One morning, I was listening to regular radio and I counted in 1 hour, 8 minutes of music, 13 minutes of DJ talk and 39 minutes of commercials!!! This unit is one of their top of the line models and I love the way that I can move it from car to car, from car to home. I bought the car adapter kit and added an aftermarket universal GPS holder to secure the unit. I like the option of bringing the unit closer to me so I could switch channels more effortlessly.

I use wifi to listen and more times than usual, it doesn't want to connect to internet or it will say that my credentials are wrong so I have to go online and resend the signal or keep trying. I know my credentials are correct because eventually it works. The radio isn't very loud without a separate speaker attached. It's ok to listen at your desk at work or with headphones at the gym tho.

Upon setting it up, there were many unexpected surprises that really made the purchase worthwhile. You get the full satellite connection - via either the car or home base. First surprise: it has wireless built in - so any network I join, I can get XM via the internet. - That's awesome! Second surprise: with the home kit - the base is blue tooth. So now, once paired with the base, the radio can be removed and you can have it in your hands to change stations. Also, you can either do satellite or wireless when in the base. Again - Awesome! Great device - great price! I am just waiting for someone to make a portable antenna for this thing and it will be PERFECT!

Just beware that if you had a sirius radio before and you are upgrading to this one that this one is a siriusxm radio and therefor you will have to upgrade your subscription to keep Howard Stern. Upgrading is more money per month.
