Great streaming product5

This product works as advertised. Had very little problem setting up the device. I have the Slingplayer app for both my iPhone and iPad. The video quality is very clear and detailed at 1080p. It's much easier to set up this device to receive high definition compared to the Slingbox Pro HD. Would like to see the ability to stream photos from my mobile devices to the box via WIFI but overall it does a good job at streaming content from my DVR to my mobile gear.- I use it in... : Large home

Directv users may be frustrated2

It appears you cannot use the RCA cables with a Directv receiver which is hooked up via HDMI to your hi-def TV. The Directv unit cannot handle high and low def at the same time. Supposedly using the RGB vs. RCA cables will resolve this issue, but I haven't had time to check it out. In hindsight I would have been better off buying the 500 model which comes with a HDMI connection ( in addition to having wireless build in.)- I use it in... : Large home

I've known about Slingboxes for years and always thought about getting one. But finally the combination of lots of business trips to non-English speaking countries and getting a weekend get-away place without cable lead me to take the plunge. The Box works as advertised, it allows me to pretty easily access my cable (U-verse) at home and watch it where ever I am on my iPhone or laptop. I've already tried it from out of town domestically and three countries in Europe. It works great as long as you have a decent internet connection.
My only complaint is that it is not easy to watch remotely on another TV. For instance at my weekend place, I would like a box that is a Slingbox receiver with HDMI output that I can hook to the TV. They should be able to build something like that for around $100. My plan right now is to buy an iMac Mini which does have HDMI out and view the Slingbox on that.
But overall it is a great product. It's easy to setup and it works. And with Internet connections getting better and faster all the time, the usefulness will just keep getting better.- I use it in... : Small home

This is a great product that does what it says on the box. You have to make sure you choose your specific cable box to get the full controls of your home remote (DVR, on demand, recording shows). The mobile app is an extra $15 and quality of the picture you get depends on your internet speed. There is a lag from real time when using the smart phone app, but it is fine unless someone is watching the same show in the house in a different room. (sports - cheering for a great move - you'll see it a couple of seconds later on the mobile phone). There is also a feature of using an video camera to monitor your house that I have not tried yet, which is a plus with this system. This feature can be used to keep an eye of your home inside or out. video quality perfect. Remote controls best using with Netgear NeoTV prime as sling player. All functions work include DVR record and play back. Harder using pc as sling player, but still fully functional.- I use it in... : Small home

This is the best Slingplayer yet. Picture quality for sports is amazing. But the system lags and hangs up CONSTANTLY with Windows 8 system. They should turn of the live recording function for Win 8 because on the iPad the lag is only a few seconds if the bandwidth drops. They really need a optimized app for Windows 8 otherwise the viewing experience is substandard. Please not these problems do not exist with Slingbox Classic (original beta tester, what can I say) and Windows 8, so it is definitely compression and software/OS related in Win 8 system! No problems at all on Windows 7 PC's................- I use it in... : Large home

I bought this to watch my home surveillance cameras, and tv when away from home or when kids use the tv..
It is clear and works great using Wi-Fi..
