Posted by: from Phoenix, Arizona on 03/23/2013I had reservations, thought I should be looking at a another name known more for sound, but I am very impressed and thrilled with this system. Also enjoying the Bluray quality with the surround sound. At the end of the movie, wish I had the time to replay it again just to enjoy the sound. Very pleased Mr. Sony

Posted by: from Middleton (Madison), WI on 11/15/2012A 5" downfiring driver that needs sympathetic resonance from the floor joists is not a subwoofer. No punch. No definition. It does make the entire house rumble but it reminded me of SensSurround which was impressive from 1972-1978. Where are the highs? Today's broadcast television (well, since the '80's) has crisp, tinkly treble. These plastic towers don't relay that part of the audio spectrum, but they sure do add a low-Q midrange peak that muddies the spoken vocal range. I gave my roommate a NAD-AV711 with Polk speakers and a Sony 10" front-firing powered subwoofer but he traded it in on this toy system. Don't get me wrong, it's an impressive gift for your 11-year old daughter. The Bravia TV deserves *MUCH* better. I just have to find a way to tactfully replace this with a Sony STR-DA??00ES, SA-W3000, etc.

Easy to setup for great sound!!

Posted by: from KC, MO on 08/17/2012I have this blue-ray/sound system setup in my bedroom. I love the fact that I didn't have to run any cables from the blue-ray box to the back speakers. The system sounds great. I haven't changed any settings, made any adjustments or anything, and it sounds awesome straight out of the box. A couple of times, after turning on the unit to watch a downloaded movie, the rear speakers didn't turn on until after I changed the volume. not really a big deal. And 1 other time, I had to restart the system because there was a strange 'echo' in the sound. Simply restarting fixed that, and it hasn't happened since. Am still playing around with the network speaker. I've used it a couple of times, but my wireless signal is weak where I was using it. Still need to use it more in a better environment to really comment on it.

Posted by: from on 07/10/2012The salesman kept trying to sell me a cheaper sound system...I did some research online and insisted he let me 'test drive' this system. I brought it home. plugged it in and the thing practically set itself up. amazing sound. Its in the same sound quality class as bose.

    Great system.

Posted by: from Lakeland, FL on 07/05/2012As someone with intermediate technical skills I was concerned with whether I would be able to set-up and get the system working without having to shell out another $180 (price salesperson quoted me) to have the Geek Squad do it. It took a several hours from opening the box to getting everything set-up, connected and functioning but was able to do it. Still have lots to read in the instruction manuals to utilize all the "bells and whistles" however the sound is really good! Wish the system would allow you to stream your TV audio to the HomeShare Wireless speaker. Would be nice to listen to the cable box digital music channels on the HomeShare Wireless speaker which I have placed outside by the pool under the covered deck. Overall the connection to my wireless network was fairly simple. Highly recommend this system if running wires to rear surround sound speakers is not feasible and you would like to be able to send music to other areas of the house via a wireless speaker(s).
