I had a Sony DVD player that I used every day & loved it! I had it for years & over used it (broke). Had to say bye & replace it. I wanted to get the same one at Best Buy but they don't sell it anymore :(. I new I wanted another Sony. So I look at what Best Buy had. I sew a Sony DVD + Blue-ray player & was sold write away. More is not better. I miss my old DVD player. Poor sound, buttons are hard to push, heavy to. You hit the play button nothing happens. Play doesn't even play you have hit enter to play. What!!! Play should play.0 out of 4 found this review helpful.

My girls got these as a gift. They were taken out of the box and charged. They lasted over 3 hours for a car ride. They operated them with no problems and no complaints from them about skipping or disc errors.2 out of 4 found this review helpful.

Bought this for my 3 year old granddaughter to travel with. Also she loves her cartoons so I can put her movies in and she puts her headset on and can watch her movies while we watch ours. She loves it. I enjoy it for my crafting dvds and watching movies when I'm working on things. Really have not complaint except I have been unable to find the accessories to put it in the car so she doesn't have to hold it.2 out of 4 found this review helpful.

I love the player!! Great picture and sound. I used my player on the plane when I was going on vacation. The only problem I had was when the lights went out in the cabin I could not see any of the buttons. There is no back light for the buttons so I had to feel the buttons in the dark. Other then that everything else was fine.1 out of 3 found this review helpful.

The picture on this is fantastic, and it has played everything we put in it. We picked this up as an open box item and were a little worried, but have found it was a tremendous value.7 out of 8 found this review helpful.

Excellent for my color/contrast difficulty5

I have glaucoma and as a result of surgeries in both eyes have problems with color and contrast. Bluray shows better than regular DVD for me. And I have to sit close (color/wavelength). Sound great with noise-cancelling headphones.Design is like a laptop where screen folds face DOWN when not in use versus competition where screen folds down face UP exposed to scratches. Variety of inputs/outputs eg. USB good for digital camera photos & HDMI for connection to flat screen TV in hotel room if traveling. Can't comment on battery as I've never used it. Definitely cheaper than laptop with buit-in bluray player and can be used independent of laptop.Recommend buying 1080p HDMI cable for TV connection, photo/USB adapter, & case/sleeve for travel convenience. I live in Kitchener Ontario and bought the unit in Traverse City Michigan in April 2012 as SONY Canada does not offer it. Regardless of my medical situation this is a great well-designed versatile performer for anyone.17 out of 18 found this review helpful.

Product arrived well packaged. Manual was easy to follow and setup was quick. Need to charge battery prior to using, this took several hours. First use was on a flight to CA, watched 2 movies back to back. Battery life was excellent and unit did not overheat. Watched 2 more movies on trip home without charging the battery, total of 4 movies on one charge (just over 7hrs). If you're looking for a portable BlueRay player this is an excellent choice, if you're looking for just a portable DVD player then purchase the Sony DVD only unit.18 out of 19 found this review helpful.

Best portable blu-ray player5

Shopping for tv on the go for the family during car rides. It was way to expensive to have a overhead or headrest DVD player installed in my 2010 Nissan Pathfinder. I decided on Sony's portable blu-ray player and i also purchased a secure mount made buy digital both sold at Best Buy. Spent about $240 for everything to have TV in my SUV. It was easy to install and my 20 month old was happy to have some company in the backseat. The screen is clear and bright true 1080P and the volume is plenty loud enough for the second and third row seats. Great Buy.33 out of 43 found this review helpful.
