I'm glad we purchased this device. My husband has been looking for something like this for a while. We can browse the internet, and lots more -- and we're not limited to the one tv in the house -- we can move it around.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

I bought this unit in Januare of 2013. At first it was great, then after a month Sony did a software upgrade on the unit. After that the apps stopped working. I spend over 5 hours on the phone with Sony tech support, almost half of that on hold. First they tried to blame Netflix, until it was found that all the apps were not working. Then they admitted they had a problem with these units when they upgrade the software. There solution: I was to mail back my 1.5 month old unit to them, wait for them to get around to sending me a replacement which would be used and maybe a year old, and see if that fixed the problem. Considering my tech question was over two days and 5 hours I expected them to not be very efficient in sending me a replacement. After all the time on hold, and being misled, I went back to Best Buy, and they refunded me my money. I have bought Sony products in the past and never had a problem, but this experience has taught me to never buy another Sony product again.4 out of 7 found this review helpful.

I really liked the Sony Google TV internet player device, but I ended up taking it back because I found out Google TV does not support Hulu Plus. After reading about it, it seems Google and Hulu have licensing agreement issues dating back several years - with no resolution in sight. I ended up purchasing an Apple TV device instead, even though the Apple TV doesn't have a built-in Internet search feature. The design of the Sony Google TV is top quality, as is the remote. The Sony remote has a nice feel/grip with a full QWERTY keypad and trackpad, much better than the remote for the Apple TV. If it wasn't for the Hulu Plus issue, I'd give the Sony Google TV five stars.3 out of 3 found this review helpful.

I enjoy this product very much as I can watch streamed movies and surf the Internet. You also have access to the Google Play store. One thing that should be pointed out is that it doesn't have access to VUDU for some reason. VUDU doesn't work even on the built in Chrome browser...
Still for $150 investment, I say it's worth it.2 out of 2 found this review helpful.
