Posted by: deemota from NYC on 04/14/2013OMG, I was so pleasantly surprised with the sound from this speaker. Love that there is both a 30pin or a lightning pin version. With the 30 pin version, you can also use it with Apple's lightning adapter if you have an iPhone 5. I love that you can sync all the alarms on your iPhone with the Sony app. By the way, you can also use it with your iPad or iPad mini. I do. LOVE THIS DOCK!!!!!

Great Sound

I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 6.x and have no issues interfacing the iPhone with this device. The only complaint I have is that this device doesn't synchronize the clock with the iPhone until you install an app for that. I've seen other docks that synchronized the clock automatically without any special app installed on the iPhone. This is only a minor annoyance.

Not Compatible with iOS 6.0

Posted by: JustAGuy731 from Dallas, TX on 12/29/2012After all the good reviews, I expected a good experience. It's for my wife's iPhone 4 (not 4s) which is currently running iOS 6.0. When the iPhone was plugged into the dock, I got a message something like "This Device is Not Compatible with iPhone". We had downloaded the suggested iPhone app for use with this device, but apparently it made no difference.
After trying many things, I decided to try the online chat with Sony customer support. I got a session after just a few minutes and told him my problem. He basically said that this device is compatible with iPhone 4 but has not been tested with iOS 6.0 or later. He said if I downgraded my iPhone it would be guaranteed to work. I don't doubt that, but it's a ridiculous suggestion. I have no intention of having my wife downgrade her iPhone to be compatible with this device. I don't know if it's Apple's fault or Sony's fault that iOS 6 is not compatible with this device, but it doesn't really matter. It certainly wasn't Best Buy's fault, and I appreciate that I was able to return the device with no issues. I replace it with the $99 iHome device (also from Best Buy), and my wife is very happy with the results.
I didn't really pay attention to any of the other features of this device, so have no review regarding them.

Issues with iOS6

I just purchased the product for 89.99. Price matches the functionality and sound quality. The main problem is that the device does not work with iOS6, but it works perfectly with iOS5.
I imagine a fix will be available at some point...???

It works great, and the sound is better than the older one. As an added bonus, this one also works with the iPad. It charges the iPad, but very slowly. I love it.

Unfortunately, the alarm function controls are somewhat obscure and confusing. So, I am not confident that I can make it work without paying extreem close attention to the settings. When I am tired or half asleep, it is unlikely that i will be able to set it or turn it off. (The old unit has a simple slide switch that can be located and opperated with my eyes closed!) At this point, I think that I am either going to use it as a simple garage radio or, just return it.
