Bought as a replacement for my 1980's Technics

My high end Technics turntable died . . . and no way was I going to break the bank going to that price range again. The Sony may not sound as good as the Technics did in the 80's but it seems to be filling my needs . . . . hearing great artists that I had almost forgotten about. Plugged and Played with little to no effort. Works well with my 1970's reciever/.amp. It is great to get more that you pay for sometimes.

Perfect for me

It works perfectly my only complaint is that the audio cables are a bit short which limits your options for connecting to stereos unless you get extenders. I have not used the conversion software that came along with it so I don't know about how well that works.

Needs Receiver/Speakers

I read the description carefully as I've never purchased a turntable prior, and was impressed with the fact that she could convert vinyl to MP3, but there was no mention of the fact that it wouldn't work without the accessories.
When she discovered it wouldn't work for her, I ordered a different item (an all-in-one model) and tried to return the Sony. Best Buy wouldn't take it back...past the 15 day return period. I'm furious about this and will NEVER do business with this company again. Now I have to try to sell this on eBay and most likely will end up taking a loss. Very dissatisfied customer!

Great for Beginners

Posted by: RipNRiva from on 02/10/2013I just bought this yesterday. I set it up in minutes from unpacking it. The instructions were really helpful. This is my first record player ever, so coming from me, if i can set it up so can anyone. I hooked it up to my home theater amplifier which already had connectors for the male ends from the record player. I probably wont use the usb ever though since i have most records on cd's.
