It's nice to use for listening, and it's also nice that you aren't completely. It off from the sounds of the world around you. All in all, very happy with the purchase, and definitely better than some much more expensive earphones, and a lot of cheaper ear phones. Definitely worth a try!

great headphone for the new price of $200

1. no batteries (even though i used rechargeable batteries)
2. no annoying noise cancellation, but incredibly good passive noise cancellation.(allows you to focus on the music)
3. i hung out with my friend that masters music on his Mac Book Pro, he hijacked my headphones because of the comfort and sound quality.
4. the lock in cable, i really messed up my beats by dre studio cords because the would fly out of the headphones when i dropped my iphone.
5. also and lastly sound doesn't leave these headphones at all(at a safe sound level for your headphones), i will vouch for that.
I am not an audiophile i just like to listen and feel my music. these headphones have bass and they are very EQ friendly. the bass is not overpowering to the point were the headphones shake or the highs are muddy. in my iphone right now i have one republic, lil wayne, drake, skrillex, washed out, phillip phillips, Rascal Flatts, lana del rey, phoenix, and more. i listen to all kinds of music these headphones are not just hip hop headphones or pop headphones.
There might be people that tell you audio technica ATH-M50 are the best headphones i won't dispute that , but i dont want flat sounding headphones i want power coming from my headphones, i want to feel those drums and synths and not lose the vocals in the mix.

a little pricey

Posted by: TCBEME from California on 02/09/2013"When comparing the sound quality against the Beats head set I felt that Sony had the edge with less distortion when turned up. The comparable Beats set were just a tad cheaper but i went with the better quality sound for a little more. On the flip side... the Beats ear pieces were smaller a not so clumsy. The Sony ear pieces are comfortable but are larger than the Beats and "slop" around a bit too much. They should have been made with some "resistance" built into the ear pieces to prevent them from sloping around so much. I had bought a Sony head set some time ago with the same great sound quality but for half the price. Bottom line...Sony puts out good quality products but a little less can be more. Smaller in size with out the slop and smaller in price would have earned five stars, but, if i am being honest, 4 stars is my rating. I think the price was inflated to compete with the Beats. As I mentioned above, I paid less for the same great sound...what has changed? Come on Sony!

After listening for a while my ears get a bit warm because they have such good padding. Ok for the cold WI winter, but may be more undesirable in the summer. Overall, fantastic headphones!
