Posted by: sublimetori from Lansing, MI on 05/22/2013I got this to use instead of having cable TV. When I got it home, I realized I couldn't get Hulu. Not even through the web browser. It is blocked. I figured I could use Netflix as my main source for TV. The selection of movies and shows is terrible. So I checked out the other apps. Most of the other apps just didn't work. They needed updates but then the updates didn't work. The other apps require and average of $4 per movie or show. HBO Go only works if you are a current HBO subscriber. I might as well get cable again. The device freezes almost every time I use it. Netflix has a hard time connecting every other time. Even though I selected the option to have it start up with my TV, I am nearly done eating dinner by the time my show or movie actually begins because of all of these problems. I feel like I overpaid for this device. I should have just got a Roku.

Posted by: elatequill from on 05/18/2013It needs to have more storage and a faster processor while runnung cooler than it currently does for the price. It did crash a lot at first until the last update. The remote control can probably be made with better materials. If electricity use is not a big deal than a pc connection to the tv hdmi might be a better option.

Full web browser was my main reason for purchase over the Roku. The easy to use remote with a navigating pad on one side and qwerty keyboard on the other just makes browsing the web on your TV a great experience. I've had it for several months and no major issues. Some apps can be buggy but my overall experience is enjoyable.

Anytime I am watching something and I remember I need to look something up on the web I just pop it into picture in picture mode so I can keep watching while I surf. When I'm doing my homework and I want some tunes, I can load up Pandora or my own collection from Google Music. All of the TV functions are fluid and work as expected. I couldn't be more pleased.

Here they are charging 199.99 but at the sony website it is just 169.00
