Synopsis

Synopsis
They may look cute, but there's nothing nice about the characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This fighting frenzy will have you inflicting painful KO's on familiar opponents you thought were your friends. Take your frustrations out on Link, Mario and other characters from throughout the gaming world. Shoot spaceships out of the sky in the Lylat System from the Star Fox games and deal out killer blows in Rumble Falls based on the look and feel of Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat.

Hit opponent after opponent to build up your damage meter, then knock your enemies clear off the screen. Rely on weapons that are silly but very effective, such as banana peels, pitfalls, gooey bombs and many more. Hurl old-school crates and barrels or select from Assist Trophies and Poke Balls to strike fear in the hearts of your foes. Combine Standard, Strong and Smash attacks to bash your way to victory. There are so many ways to smash, you'll get lost in the melees for hours on end.

Features

  • Play as or against familiar characters, including Wario, Samus, Ike, Pit, Mario, Link, Kirby, Pikachu, Fox, Zelda, Bowser, Donkey Kong and Yoshi
  • Shoot off fireworks with the Cracker Launcher, distract your enemies with the colored smoke of a Smoke Ball, protect yourself from projectiles with the Franklin Badge and much more
  • Unleash Deoxys and Groudon Poke Balls to make a Pokemon come to your aid
  • Call forth an invincible Assist Trophy to completely annihilate your opponent
  • Pitfalls make your enemies fall through the floor similar to Animal Crossing
  • Set up Bumpers from the Nintendo 64 version of Super Smash Bros.
  • Visit the Bridge of Eldin, which appears in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
  • Obtain a precious Smash Ball and perform the Final Smash, which can be executed only once

Great arena fighting game

Posted by: from Henderson, TN on 05/04/2013Great arena style game. Takes games like Mortal Kombat to the next lvl. Lots of characters to fit any playstyle. Varied gametypes also give high replay value. This game is the main reason i bought a wii.

Fun to play for hours!

Posted by: from Sacramento, CA on 03/11/2013There really isn't anything negative I can think to say about this game, I absolutely love it! The story line is interesting. I love how many characters there are. At one point I thought, "Oh no I'm about to beat the game!" but suddenly there was a great twist and it was like starting all over only more difficult. A+ in my book!

The game is fun

Posted by: from on 11/25/2012This game is a lot of fun and a good family game. Free battle mode is really fun. What we don't like is the characters are so small compared to other fighting games. This was disappointing. Also the game is a little confusing when trying to pick different modes. I am used to playing many fighting and battling games so it is not like I am not used to the way these are made or how to route through them. Once you are picking chararcters and fighting with them the game is a lot of fun and it is awesome being able to pick characters from so many different games. That is half the fun. Then being able to get power ups from all different types of characters regardless of what story franchise they come from adds to the excitement. I would have given the game 4 stars if they had made the charatcers larger on the screen. Whole family enjoys it.

Fun game, great for everyone

Posted by: from Sarasota, fl on 09/16/2012By far one of my most favorite games for the Wii! Have had many, many hours of great fun playing this game, even at "adult" parties. Everyone gets a good laugh, lots of fun to be had challenging your friends and using Pikachu to destroy them! Worth the price of admission, for sure!

Super Smash Brothers Legacy Continues
5
Posted by: from NC on 07/11/2012What can I say other than Nintendo has done it again? I've played SSB for N64 and SSB Melee for GameCube. I would say this has to be in the top 3 multiplayer games for Nintendo Wii. It makes perfect for a party and I think it would be fun to use in a tournament. SSB gives the gamer many choices in character selection. I've noticed the addition of Sonic (of course you have to unlock him). This game also has over 15 fighting stages to choose from and brings back some of the stages from Melee. If I can say anything, then it's to add more original stages. Also, SSB Brawl has a variety of CPU difficulty. Instead of the usual easy, medium, and hard, the gamer can choose between a level 1 (easiest) and level 10 (hardest). If you are playing alone, you can either chose to do the storyline or fight on a level against one, two, or three other CPUs. Multiplayer choices include a free-for-all or team battle. I assume this is rated Teen because of violence; however, there isn't any gore and just about all characters are originally from Nintendo, so I don't see why children shouldn't play. I HIGHLY recommend making this game an addition to anyone's gaming library.

Best SSB Ever!

Posted by: from jedi temple on 10/23/2011This game is a huge improvement to the super smash brothers melee. The characters are even better in this game. I like how Nintendo brought back the old melee stages. The storyline was quite fun and had a good challenge to it. Any super smash brothers fan should buy this for the ultimate wombo combo!

Best Game I've ever played on the Wii
5
Posted by: from on 10/02/2011This game is the best game I've ever played in my life!!! In the game, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, players basically fight or team up and fight one another. This game can be played with 4 players and the game's format is seperated in modes. Some modes in the game are Brawl mode, The Subspace Emissary mode, Classic mode, and many more. In Brawl mode, players choose which characters they want to be and choose a stage to fight on. Some characters that you can choose are Mario, Kirby, Link, Princess Peach, and others. When you first start, you have only a little variety of characters to choose from. However, you can gain hidden characters in the game by playing in The Subspace Emissary mode. In the Subspace Emissary mode, 2 players have to work together to pass through obstacles, destroy enemies, and have to clear levels. This mode is in the format of a storyline, so you'll see cutscenes when you complete a level. Classic mode is when you must clear different levels by defeating enemies. Unlike The Subspace Emissary mode, Classic mode does not follow a storyline format. This game is great for teens and adults, has no bad words, has a fun atmosphere in it, and is fun to play with friends or just yourself. Although this is a great game for teens and adults, parents with children under 12 should be advised that there are lots of violence and weapons. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a great fighting game that is fun to play with friends or by yourself, has a fun atmosphere, has different varieties of modes to play, and is great to play at any age
