Kinda-sorta worth-it but not really...

08/07/2013I am an anti-Apple consumer. I generally seek the cheaper alternative, and having worked in manufacturing, I know for a fact that the exact same products get sold under several different labels... I was weary about this, but I decided to see what $100 would get me. I've owned it about a month & a half.
I made sure to get something with an updated operating system, a fair amount of ram, and HD connectivity.
The tablet is heavy... heavier than is comfortable to hold for a long period of time. The screen looks good, but is mildly unresponsive. I like Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, but the tablet itself is kind of laggy, slow and unresponsive, having to press the app again because it didn't load the first time. Even with my blazing-fast internet speed, the connectivity is spotty and websites take forever to load... reminds me of the days of dial-up internet. Lastly, I can't say how many times I picked it up and the battery was dead (as in, the unit turned off).
I do not recommend this tablet to anyone who values the minutes of their lives ticking away. As for myself, I think the top branded tablets are severely overpriced for what they can do, and I cannot bring myself to spend that amount of money. You're better off buying a laptop or netbook... it's cheaper and has greater potential.
