Decent

Posted by: from Columbia, sc on 05/06/2013This is a nice system overall. My biggest complaint is the difference on the sensitivity difference for night and dark situation. If you use it in the daylight you have to set the sensitivity higher than you would at night. If you do not lower the sensitivity at night it will turn on very easily. There is no middle ground that works well for both day and night!!!

Use for Home Security System
5
Posted by: from Virginia on 04/26/2013I purchased this system to keep an eye out for the back of my house to include keeping my chickens and rabbits safe from predators. The system is easy to setup as far as connection, but you should get the system up and running first before connecting your first camera. It is a good idea to use a camera to help plan position of the cameras and have a "live" shot before final placement of the cameras. This will prevent more than one attempt at mounting the camera in the location you want. There is the ability to adjust and fine tune the camera position after install. The Swann website wasn't too helpful with the Apple and Safari software. The installation disk did come with the system, but the Apple software was the old version. After a couple of hours of searching I found the new software and worked great. The windows stuff was plug and play; the software worked form the start. The internet configuration is a little difficult if you are not familiar with port mapping, router adjustments and internet protocol.

Posted by: from Ft Worth, Tx on 03/13/2013We use our cameras to resolve issues with our inventory. Did we make a mistake loading or did a customer forget to tell us they picked up an item. It is all on tape. The cost of this system is much less than missing inventory.

Posted by: from New England on 08/20/2012I am having a few issues with recording, I called Swann tech support and got first line support which kept putting me on hold then telling me she needed to call me back in five minutes as they need to "restart our system" Two and a half hours later...... I do give her credit but I am on the east coast and they are on the west coast and she called late into the night. I write Tech Support, get an automated response. "Due to heavy demand we will get back to you in 1-5 days. Not a good company in my opinon. Do not purchase!
