Posted by: Fulnix from Chicago on 02/15/2013I got this primarily to fill our ski chalet with the sound of a party. In that aspect this the A73 is excellent. The Bass is deep and I'm sure if I left it on full volume the police would surely be called. Unfortunately the other features I bought it for didn't work.
Bluetooth, this device only supports Bluetooth v2.0 if you have a new phone with Bluetooth v4.0 this will not work. The Bluetooth will cut out in the breaks between songs. This happens sporadically but will happen with in 3 to 5 songs. I called TDK Support and they told me this is a known issue and then tried to convince me that v2.0 is better. I asked if they had plans to release an update to make the Boom Box usable with new phones. They said they were not planning on doing this. It makes streaming unusable unless I got out my old android phone I don't use anymore :/ I'd like to use my new phone with my new boom box!!
Battery life: this is advertized as 6hrs at 50% volume which should be more than enough for a day at the beach or outside the chalet by the hot tub. Unfortunately after letting the batter charge overnight it only lasted an hour and a half. Also on battery power the bass power is drastically reduced. I could have lived with the reduced bass output, but I paid ~$300 for this, I expected at least 6hrs as advertized...FAIL

Great sound from small box

Posted by: planetmoby from Shingle Springs CA on 01/02/2013After reading about the A73 I had my reservations as I had trouble finding a box with the sound I was after. I initially thought it was too small but when I turned it on, was pleasantly surprised.
We enjoyed the wireless streaming so much and the sound, we have one downstairs and another upstairs.

I had purchased the original two speaker TDK boom box, but always needing to plug in was a pain, and the low-end range just wasn't there. I considered the three speaker system but the 31lbs weight was out of the question. Playback sounds great from Maroon 5 to Skrillex, you will have to adjust the EQ when playing older tracks like Led Zepplin or Queen. So no matter what type of music you like, your tunes will sound great. The highs are crisp and the subwoofer delivers just the right amount of bass. You can adjust the Bass and Treble from -5 to +5. The only bad comment I have for the boom box is that the bluetooth cuts off every once in awhile, maybe once an hour of constant playback, but when you go wireless nothing can be perfect. If you buy this for portability and sound you won't be let down.
