Turtle Beach - Ear Force N11 Nintendo Gaming Headset + Stereo Sound for Wii U and 3DS - Black (3 out of 7)
Sound is great, mic could be better

Posted by: from Pittsburgh, PA on 05/06/2013Seems ok. I know the people talking to me can't always hear me though, the same goes for when they talk as well. For 50 bucks I would expect better. Had to return the first one I bought because it didn't work at all, doesn't give me much faith in the product.

Great for Wii U and 3DS

Posted by: from Virginia on 04/08/2013So I looked at these and the NLa both from Turtle Beach but I didn't like the on the ear system. I prefer over the ear as it also helps block out noise. These are quite comfortable and the sound is quite clear. The only problem (tho small) that I have in regards to the sound is that it seems to be more balanced towards treble than bass. I have used these on my 3DS, Wii U, and even on my iPhone and I was very pleased with the sound quality, comfort over an extended period of time (multiple hours) and the people who I spoke to made no complaints about being able to hear me. I can't help but wonder if the folks complaining here submitted the review for the wrong headset as I have seen many complaints for the NLa all around. The N11 is exclusive to Best Buy and I'm glad I got it. And right now for the $30 you can't beat it. I paid $50 but have no complaints about that price (but I'm still trying to get the difference with their new price match ;-) ), but if you're looking for a headset this week for your Wii U or 3DS this one should do the job nicely :-).

Don't buy

Posted by: from Henderson on 02/19/2013Don't let the Turtle Beach brand fool you. I bought these, and thought they were OK for a week for using as a headset, but started trying to ue them as main headphones, and they didn't hold up. They feel kinda fragile, and are quiet when using the Wii U gamepad as your main sound source. You're better off getting the Skullcandies with a mic in them for $30 less.

Posted by: from Panama City, Fl on 01/21/2013First of all these babies are extremely comfortable. I did stretch them out when I first got them by placing them on the box they came in over night as I do with most of my head phones. They fit wonderfully and I have had no problem with them slipping off. The sound is okay. You can hear everything just fine. You can feel the thump of the bass and I love that. My one problem with the sound is I think the treble is just a little too high, but maybe that's me. I assume the mic works fine as nobody on the receiving end has complained. The volume control and mute work just fine. The mic is very flexible and moves out of the way when you do not want it. I've been enjoying these so much that I use them around the house for everything. If they didn't have the mic on them I would take them out into public. I am very satisfied with the $50 price point. Note: What you hear when you plug these into the GamePad depends on the game. When I plugged them in during my play through of Arkham City the game turned off the sound from the TV and played it through the headphones along with GamePad's sound. When I plugged them in while playing Nintendo Land only the sound that was going through GamePad came through the headphones. When playing Call of Duty online I only heard other player's voices.

Good headset for the price.

Posted by: from on 01/19/2013I like it for the price. I'm not about to spend a $100 or more on a headset for a game. We tried several different headsets before settling for this one. Better than the more expensive Turtle Beach Wii-U headset. We tried 2 of those and the mute's didn't work.

Garbage

Posted by: from New Jersey on 11/28/2012STAY AWAY FROM THESE. I bought these today based off of my previous experience with Turtle Beach headsets. Firstly, the headphones are so quiet, that I could barely hear them at all. I was playing Zombi U, and couldn't achieve even a reasonably loud volume. To be fair, I'm not sure if the it's the gamepad not outputting a strong enough signal, or if the headset plain and simply needs an amp of some sort. Regardless, this is an unfinished product. I have never been so disappointed in a set of headphones (or almost any product for that matter). Don't waste your money on these. I'll be returning them tomorrow. Also, shame on Nintendo for not including an optical output on the Wii U.

This headset feels cheap and sound quality is bad.

Posted by: from New York, NY on 11/19/2012I purchased this headset for my Wii U and thought that since turtle Beach makes great headphones, this will work great on my console. I was wrong, this headset sucks and uncomfortable. I was playing for just 1 hour and it started to make by ear swell, and the sound quality is like using a dollar store headphones. I should have purchased the rocketfish branded instead, please ignore this headset at all costs. This headphones should not cost more than $10.00. The headphones is made by a cheap plastic, which will break in seconds. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT PURCHASE THIS HEADPHONES. I returned it the next day.
