Price was a little steep I feel, but I guess that's because the VHS side of life is becoming more and more outdated. The picture quality isn't the greatest for the price you pay. Other than that, it's a nice buy because it's for the kids anyway. And I know they don't know the difference or care either way.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

sometimes we have family members that won't let go of the past, butt yet they want to join us in today's world, well if grandpa still wants to watch his massive vhs collection, butt when you visit you bring a dvd, well this one machine does the trick. It's cheap, plays dvd & vhs & so simple a grandparent can work it. Since grandpa won't throw out his old vhs library, he can at least join us in the 20th century & be able to play dvd's!0 out of 1 found this review helpful.

If you want this unit (and they are actually a good unit, my toddlers broke my first one) buy it new. I bought this refurbished unit and it set up just fine (no hdmi cable though). However the instructions are unclear as to what type of DVD's it uses to record. I went through $60 worth of dvd's until I found DVD+RW which was the only kind that it would take and at least give me the option to record to and as sson as I got it ready an error comes on and it turns out that the unit that was supposed to be refurbished was still broken. Buyer be ware on this.0 out of 2 found this review helpful.

For a machine soon to be superannuated, playing formats almost obsolete, it's great to have. In two years it will be irreplaceable, so I'm glad to have it, new and in faultless condition!!
What else can I say?6 out of 6 found this review helpful.
