Not Enough Space
3
Posted by: from Indianapolis, IN on 05/18/2013Beware of the amount of phone storage. I believe it's only 2GB and that is NOT enough. Not only that, but it's already ridden with the annoying Android Apps. downloaded onto the phone that you cannot get rid of. It SAYS it'll allow up to 32GB micro SD card, but it doesn't do you any good unless you're a professional photographer or you want 10,000 songs on your phone because it doesn't let you put any applications on the card. The amount of space just doesn't cut it, and not only that but when you DO run out of space, incredibly often, your phone doesn't receive your texts and tells you that you have a missed text, but not even WHO it's missed from. And when you do actually receive a text there is no accurate time stamp to know WHEN it was received. I suppose a plus of this phone is that it's virtually indestructible, no matter how much you would rather it wasn't so you would have an excuse to get a new phone.

Good first smartphone
4
Posted by: from on 04/14/2013This is my first smartphone and I've had it for almost two years now. I had used the android os before, so this was pretty easy to figure out. It does have its limitations however. It comes preinstalled with some apps that I will never use and that I cannot uninstall or move to the sd card so they just take up space. So I only have a few apps downloaded and installed (which I move to the sd card# before I get warning messages about my phone being low on storage space. Not sure how that's possible. Also, initially the Yahoo mail app didn't seem to want to play nice with android. But that may have been a Yahoo issuse since it seems to have been resolved with an update. The battery life, if you keep background data and GPS turned on is not so good. I turn off the background data but keep the GPS turned on and my phone is good for light to moderate use all day. I surf or text more than talk. Camera is okay. Not great and kinda slow shutter speed so I have a bunch of pics of my kids where they are moving or talking. Whatever, I don't expect a great camera on my phone and carry a point and shoot in my purse or car most of the time. Only real issue I have #and I'm not sure if its VM or this phone) is that sometimes when I answer a call the caller cannot hear me but I can hear them. I haven't investigated since I don't talk that much on the phone but its a little annoying. Also, when an iphone use sends me a group text, i never get it. I get a blank msg and have to ping whomever sent it to see what they sent. I've looked it up and I'm not the only one who has seen this. But again, it's few and far between. Overall, I'm happy with this phone and it was a great way to dip my toes into the waters of smartphones.

Posted by: from Staten Island, NY on 04/14/2013If you carrier is Virgin mobile, then this is a great starter phone, I have had this phone for a long time and it still works very well. GPS is very fast as is Wi-Fi, this phone is perfect for virgin mobile users, would definitely recommend. battery life is decent.

Cheap entry level smartphone

Posted by: from New York, NY on 04/13/2013This is a very basic smartphone to use on Virgin Mobile. Simple operation and low cost. Slow, no frills performance given its specs.

Good buy for anyone whose rough on phones
5
Posted by: from Garner, NC on 04/07/2013I am really, really, really rough on phones. And this is durable as all get out. I literally threw it (on accident of course) about 20 feet straight on concrete with no case or even screen protector. Scratched the plastic, naturally, but no damage to the screen. At all. And that was about six months ago. I've dropped it countless times, including in a wet floor drain at my work and I have yet to get a scratch on the screen or any other bugs or issues with the abusive treatment. The camera is amazing actually, the pictures are really good, and transferring to a computer is super easy (especially with the micro usb to usb / detachable wall adapter charger). The music player is awesome. My iPod died shortly after I got this phone and have no intentions whatsoever or replacing it. The space on the phone itself is large enough for a light listener, but with a bigger microSD, I wouldn't even imagine buying a mp3 player again when my phone can do everything by itself. After owning it for about a year and a half, it has starting to get a little bugged down. It's packed with music and photos and saved messages and notes, but I use few apps aside from basic navigation (which can be admittedly a little buggy, but I can't pinpoint if it's the app or the phone) and Google services. The battery life is beginning to deteriorate (usually, with how I use it, it needed charging every four or five days, now it's pretty much every night or other night) but that's how most phones are made now anyway. Sometimes the screen wonks out and freezes, but it's nothing that turning the screen to sleep (or on the three or four rare occasions a hard shutdown) won't fix. The touch screen is sensitive enough, without being jumpy, options and customization is really easy. Loved this phone, definitely within the next few months going to be upgrading to the Elite. I'm the sort of person who loses their phone at least once a day, leaves it outside overnight, or realizes I left it at home on my way to work and don't really care. It's a great purchase for anyone who is rough on phones, doesn't use a lot of apps or extraneous programs, and generally wants a phone that can be smart, attractive, and wickedly helpful, but wants it simple, purposeful, and indestructible all at the same time.

Great Phone for the money
5
Posted by: from on 01/23/2013I have never been a fan of the regular phones, when they sell you a service for 49.99 or 59.99 by the time they get done adding in all the taxes your looking at another $25 to $35, with that said I started looking at pay as you go phones. I don't use a lot of talk time so the first one I bought was a net10, which was perfect, then I wanted to get a smartphone and just couldn't justify the expense of a iPhone, I settled for a "Wildfire" it is a decent phone but ran out of memory too fast and had to recharge It 2 or 3 times a day. I have had the Lg Optimus for over a month and have downloaded more apps and still have alot of memory left and my battery lasts at least 3 times longer. I cna play games all day, check facebook, text, and make calls and just plug it in before going to bed. As far the plans go Virgin Mobile has the best plans going. For $35 plus sales tax I get 300 min of talk time which is more than enough for me, and unlimited texts, and data. Wish more companies would follow Virgin Mobiles example.

Worst phone I have ever owned
1
Posted by: from Gainesville, FL on 12/20/2012This has got to be the worst phone I have ever had. I bought this phone in November of 2011 and by March 2012 I had to call VM to get a replacement. The phone would not charge. It shuts off sometimes whenever it wants. Now the replacement phone will not even charge. It shows it's charging and I leave it over night but it will only say like 39% and then not hold charge when you un plug it. I am so glad to see VM is not selling it anymore on their site because it is a pain to own especially when you are out of town and your phone will not charge. Big inconvience. Don't even get me started on the GPS. Don't depend on it if you don't know where you are going because it constantly loses signal. Now I have to buy another phone when I was going to wait to get the IPhone but now have no choice.

Average at best
2
Posted by: from WI on 09/23/2012I've had the phone for a year and I'm going to upgrade to a HTC ONE V through Virgin Mobile. Love the company but this phone was rather cheap. Its a good starter phone for smart phones. Its very basic and it gets the job done. Phone calls were fuzzy. Picture quality could've been better. NO SPACE! I often had to pick and choose what I wanted on my phone because I was low on space. I wasn't going to invest in a MicroSD for it either. Short battery life. Often would get very hot to the touch. Dropping it even on a bed would fall about and the battery would pop out. Lags and freezes quite often. It was a decent first smart phone but you get what you pay for with it. And the only reason I wouldn't recommend this to a friend is because my friends are all "techies" and would die having this phone.

Great phone if you're not a heavy user
3
Posted by: from Boston, MA on 08/25/2012I've had this phone since October and up until January, it was amazing. It started getting extremely slow and freezing after that. The camera is okay.. I get service nearly everywhere besides in the middle of the woods. I've dropped this phone plenty of times and it magically still works. The screen is plastic so it won't crack. The battery life sucks. My phone will be at 100% in the morning and dead by 5pm. It's a great phone if you're not a heavy user. I definitely suggest getting a case! I'll be getting an iPhone w/ Virgin Mobile though tomorrow.

Not really worth a dime.

Posted by: from middletown, ct on 08/16/2012I was very excited to first get this phone. I purchased it on 12/30/11 and it is now 8/16/12 and I already need to replace it. My husband, sister and a classmate of mine have the same phones and have the same problems. Screen freeze, force close issues, charging issues and the phone will run through the start up process when it is already turned on. Very low data storage and when you move from phone storage to SD card storage it doesn't save it. The phone has been discontinued so even if you did like the phone and had to replace it because of these KNOWN issues you're out of luck. I was happy to have gotten the $140 phone on sale for $80 but now I'm not so happy because I only have $80 credit towards a different phone. Wouldn't recommend this phone.
