Virgin Mobile - Motorola Triumph No-Contract Mobile Phone - Black (120 out of 224)
WAY OVER PRICED

Posted by: from Seaside, Ca on 04/21/2013I got this phone for 300 dollars in April 2012. Its still ridiculously overpriced. and within this one year, I've had to replace it SIX TIMES!!!! not cool. it would shut off and not turn on again. or it would just stop receiving phone calls. the last one, got super hot, and then turned off. The Android software sucks and I was super sad when I learned Motorola and Virgin Mobile were going to update the phone to at least 2.3.7. Its capable of much more. the camera is pretty good, and the placement of the speakers is great as well. battery runs quick. the soft keys frequently go unresponsive, the Charger is cheap. and if your going to root the phone, it is a NIGHTMARE. I'd much rather go for the Galaxy S2.

Pretty good phone

Posted by: from Utica, NY on 04/21/2013I've had virgin mobile since I was about 14 and have never had any issues. The phone was a bit pricey, but since it's no contract, it's a pretty good deal. The picture quality is really nice. The front camera is a bit grainy, but the back camera works better than my digital camera. The only issue I've had with this phone is the battery life. If I have any apps running in the background, my phone dies in about 6 hours. Playing games and watching videos will drain the battery very quickly. I've purchased a replacement battery, however, and I can use my phone all day. Overall, I am very satisfied with this phone. Great product.

Worst Phone Ever
1
Posted by: from el paso on 04/20/2013This phone is not worth the 279$. It has a lot of problems. the battery doesn't even last 5 hours without needing it to charge. Also the phone freezes a lot causing most of the games to go slow and when turned on the apps in the sd card take long to load . The phone has an operating system of 2.2 which most of the new apps can't be used. I honestly think, buying this phone is not worth it. Do NOT waster your money.

Over all, too little value for too much money.

Posted by: from Norfolk VA on 03/08/2013Short battery life, poor sound quality, comes apart easily (being dropped on the couch from 6 inches is enough for it to fall completely apart). It was great the first few months but now, only a year into it, I need a new phone.

OK for a few weeks

Posted by: from Omaha, Ne on 12/27/2012This phone was great for the first few weeks then it started to loose connection with the network. I have needed to reactivate every day or two, always lost connection with a WiFi or blue-tooth connection. I have had this phone for over a year and it has finally stopped working. This phone for 300 dollars has felt cheaper than my 30 dollar phone i replaced it with. I would advise you stay away from this phone as it is not worth the money.

awful

Posted by: from Kennesaw, GA on 09/24/2012My dad agreed to buy my brother and I smartphones before we went of to college this semester. He didn't want to spend a lot of money and was confused about data, so he went with a cheap, no contract phone that had unlimited data so we wouldn't go over the limit. This phone has been the worst I've ever had. I'm in a very populated college town about twenty minutes outside of Atlanta, Georgia, and the reception problems are unreal. I try to make calls, and it will lose reception. I have to practically drill it into my ear to hear phone calls, even when in a quiet room. The phone never can find 3G, so the battery drains itself trying to find reception and dies within an hour of not even using it. I'll be using an app and the screen will become pixelated and the app will force close within a minute of use. Friends will text me asking if I want to go eat with them and I just don't get the texts sometimes. My brother in Marietta has the same problems, so I know it's not just my phone. Save yourself the grief of having do deal with this phone and just don't get it

very good...but please read.

Posted by: from on 08/27/2012The phone is VERY well built. Feels really good in your hands. Looks great. Screen is responsive and graphics are stunning. Camera and video are some of the best I have seen. Now, I must be honest. The phone has HORRIBLE reception...I mean horrible. My old Virgin phone had great signal...not this one. Most of all, the OS ia absolute junk. You may as well be on dial-up. Very slow. I mean ssslllooooooowwww. Please do yourself a favor and go with the HTC. Don't let the "look" of this phone fool you into thinking you are getting a good deal. Thanks.

You get what you pay for

Posted by: from Los Angeles on 08/17/2012THE BAD: First, Virgin Mobile is a relatively small service provider compared to the likes of Verizon and AT&T etc, so the cell reception is quite slow at times. (With 1 bar of 3G, it took almost 3 minutes to load a 20 second Youtube video in standard quality). Songs on Pandora pause MANY times before the song ends because of the slow connection. HOWEVER, it has no problem making calls or texting- it just has a hard time receiving data. Then there's the small problems that get annoying over time like the infamous screen flicker (every time you turn on the screen, it flickers). Some games are very laggy (almost un-playable). Try playing Fruit Ninja or Temple Run on it- it's impossible. Screen movement is laggy at times. GPS is almost inoperable at times. Recorded videos won't play. Most stock apps (camera, messaging, photo gallery, internet search) are very disappointing and had to be replaced with a new app from the app store. I even had to replace the keyboard because the stock keyboard was so terrible. Camera takes 6-7 seconds to open. The touch screen is not very sensitive- at one point, I pressed the 'home' button 15+ times and there was no response (not an exaggeration). Sometimes the phone does not charge correctly (NUMEROUS times I have left the phone to charge overnight and woke up to discover that the phone stopped charging at 30-50% which is very inconvenient!). The most annoying battery glitch this phone has is when the phone gives false battery charges ( e.g: says battery is 100% charged, but when unplugged, battery charge changes to 27%) The feel of the phone is also very cheap and plastic-y (if you care about that sort of thing). The phone also has a Gorilla Glass screen which is "un-scratchable," but after a few months, the screen was scratched. THE GOOD: It's very affordable- The phone may be $279 but $35 a month for a smartphone!? That's unheard of! Go to Verizon and get 300 mins, unlimited text, and 2GB of data, and you'll easily pay $90-$100 a month. The phone is also VERY customizable ( you can customize everything from the lock sound to screen transition animation with the right apps). Camera quality is good for 5MP. Speakers are good. Call quality is good and texting is no problem. I had this phone for 13 months now and I tried to convince myself that this phone was good and acceptable, but it really isn't. The performance and quality is very sub-standard. This phone is only good when using wifi. If you take your phone seriously and you want a true smartphone experience, buy another smartphone Virgin Mobile offers or if you can, change service providers. I have finally given up on this phone and decided to go with a 2 year contract. :(

Died within a month and a half
1
Posted by: from San Diego, Ca on 07/30/2012We got this as a replacement for the Optimus V as that one had just died and stopped working. I don't know if it's the Android OS or just bad luck with phones. Bought this one for double the price of the Optimus believing that more money = longer lasting. I was wrong. It died quicker than the other one. Shuts off while talking, Shuts off after turning it on, Shuts off because it wants to, did a factory reset and it worked for a few days then went back to shutting off again and now it wont even turn on. Not recommended
