Posted by: from on 04/22/2008Growing up in the 80s , who can forget this underrated classic anime tv series?! It's been years since I longed to see Voltron on DVD. What is really neat is that each season comes in a collectible tin box of each lion...Now I'll have to collect them all.

Posted by: from Virginia on 02/22/2008Voltron: Defender of the Universe Vol. 5 (Keith/Black Lion) is the perfect addition to any Voltron fan's DVD collection. Complete in this edition are the remaining episodes from Season 3. The special features on this volume are: History of World Events Productions President Ted Kolpar Montage of unused and/or deleted scenes from Season 3 Vehicle Voltron DVD preview Hundred Beast King Golion DVD preview AnimeWorks Japanese title trailers The standout of the special features is the Golion DVD preview trailer. Voltron is the U.S. name for the original anime, Hundred Beast King Golion. For those of you who are familiar of how the original was before it hit the U.S. shores or with anime in general, the original contained a ton of graphic violence, blood & gore, some religious references, whipping and deaths of not only a few innocent people here and there, but also of some of the series most recognizable characters. The trailer is very humorous and it only curbs the appetite in anticipation for the forthcoming DVD release(s). To some, the original should've been released a long time ago, but to others (like myself), despite of the heavy editing and revamping the story & characters, it makes you respect not only the series, but also the reason why it was VERY necessary. In conclusion, Voltron was, and still is, a part of my childhood. I'm glad that I have it in my DVD collection!
