Posted by: ITFreak1809 from Miami on 10/25/2012I had this WD now for over a year. Used it extensively to work with my company files, since the notebook had a small harddisk. In the last days I recognized, that the speed to access files went down, then a few folders were not accessible and now, one day later, the whole HD is gone, dead, crashed. It was a good product - I believed and recommended it to colleagues - but now, I am disappointed in the quality. Lucky me, I backed up my backups. I lost some files, but not all. I will buy now Seagate?

No long annoying set-ups just plug it in and its ready to go... it loads everything from your computer automatically, or you can do it manual. I have 1 of these and i have 9 computers and everything fits on it along with the portable version of Adobe Master Collection CS5.5. This product you will absolutely love. Posted by: toneman3 from WI on 05/09/2012Overall it is okay. Could be an easy install, but DO NOT use the software that comes with this HD. It is terrible. It does not let you back up what you want exactly. It will back up your music for instance, but it backs up all your music...that is all your music files, including your .wav and all. You are better off backing up manually or with another back up program. The speed is not that great for back up and price wise is not much different than any other portable HDs.
