Synopsis

Night Watch director Timur Bekmambetov helms his first English-language feature film with this big-screen adaptation of Mark Millar's action-packed graphic novel. Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) is a cube-dwelling hypochondriac whose uneventful life has become a mundane blur of terminal boredom. Repeatedly humiliated by his boss and constantly cuckolded by his cheating girlfriend, weakling Wes seems to be living right down to everyone's expectations that he would never amount to anything in life. However, upon discovering that the father he never knew has been brutally murdered, the spineless, clock-punching pushover is recruited into a secret society of assassins known as the Fraternity. During the course of his training, the man who was once an office-bound wimp develops lightning-fast reflexes and superhuman dexterity courtesy of his skilled mentor Fox (Angelina Jolie). Upon completing his training, Wes is assigned the task of dealing out death to the mythological Fates, who possess the ability to alter the lifelines of mortal men. It isn't long before the nebbish nerd-turned-agile assassin is erasing the bad guys with surprising efficiency, yet as Wes begins to carry the mantle passed down to him by his father, he gradually begins to suspect that his wise tutors are not the crime-fighting enforcers they present themselves to be. Now, with everything he ever wanted in life finally within his grasp, Wes is about to find out that the only thing more difficult than ending the lives of others is summoning the courage to take control of his own. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Posted by: from Hurst, TX on 05/26/2009"Wanted" is something you will want in your movie collection. It reminds me of Matrix when it first came out it was something different. Its revolutionized the whole camera thing with the kills. Its action packed and delivers on every level.

Wanted Dead Or Alive

Posted by: from Columbus,OH on 01/01/2009This movie doesn't stand up to repeated viewings. You may only watch this movie once and just say this isn't my type of movie.Too many twist and turns.Who kills people just because there's a code in fabric stitching? This movie is based on a comic book and you can tell.Alot of slow motion scenes it's just an over use.And the Frat of assassins where there motto is kill 1 save 1,000 whatever that means.Angelina Jolie is very sexy, and puts the movie at a balance, and makes you watch all the action as it unfolds. But all in all I give this a rent.

Great Action Packed Movie!

Posted by: from New York on 12/23/2008This movie has to be my favorite of all time. The movie is jam packed with action and has an amazing plot. To a review i read on here, Actually YES 2 bullets CAN and will hit each other and merge themselves together in mid air. I watched a Myth Busters episode that was dedicated to proving this theory right or wrong and yes they proved that it is right and it can be done under the right circumstances. So not so far fetched when it comes to bullets colliding in mid air. Awesome Movie Awesome Plot but you have to pay attention otherwise you might get lost.

Posted by: from Howard, WI on 12/22/2008this movie was absolutely amazing. the greatest film of the year. but the plot of the movie was hard to follow and the special effects were a little ridiculous. i mean we all know 2 bullets can't collide. but if you're looking for an action packed movie, Wanted is the way to go!!

GREAT MOVIE
5
Posted by: from Littleton, Co on 12/07/2008This movie has it all. Action, plot and anything else you could ask for. All of the actors do a phenomenal job. Angelina Jolie (great actor and good looking), James McAvoy (even though i have not really heard of him before), and Morgan Freeman (great actor) all make this movie great. This is like the better matrix.

Posted by: from Paterson NJ on 12/06/2008Action galore and sub plots that support the beginning Don't assume anything or you will get frustrated from being wrong. Of course Ms Joile adds to the viewing pleasure but that's not all. All I can say is that you should buy it. I passed it by but thought oh what the heck, I like Morgan Freeman in most of his movies and let's just say he was as mysterious in this as in all the rest of his movies. Don't leave your seat or you will miss something thank god for pause.
