Price: Was a little more than a few other brands with similar specs.
Install: Easy even for a beginner just read the docs closely.
I found the install process predictable except for a few things. It mentions you need the "fiber seal" to be placed between the lower assembly and the sink yet no seal is included. If you read further you will see that they want you to use the rubber seal provided that would normally be used as a top seal for a metal sink. In my case I have a composite sink and used plumbers putty ( not included ) I had to cut the provided elbow but I expect this is also normal though not clearly mentioned in the docs ( they do mention you need a saw ).
Quality:
Seems well built but we shall see. My KitchenAid lasted 12 years with a few leaking issues over that time when it finnaly died due to my own stupidity using a plunger on my sink to clear a clog and blew out the gasket. ( don't do it man!!!! )

Performance:
Quieter than my last unit a kitchen aid Kadet 250 1/2 HP.
Seems to grind well but does take a little longer to work but seems to grind to a finer level probably a lot better for the drain.

the unit received was not the easy mount model but the three prong...which by the way is what the picture is showing....receipt says I purchased model ss3300, but bottom of unit clearly says legend 9940...maybe not a problem...I will install..the reputation is great so I have high hopes..1 out of 3 found this review helpful.

I just finished installing a Waste King-3/4 HP EZ Mount Disposer-9940 and so far, what a large disappointment. Installation was no easier or harder than any other, the sound is pretty quiet, but the first thing I tried to put through it was some watermelon rind and it took forever. The jury is still out as far as keeping it, but it is certainly over priced for the performance level. In my opinion, it is worth $59 tops; no where near $170 but I am willing to try it for a few days. Overall, very disappointed.8 out of 20 found this review helpful.

This was the best value on Consumer Reports and we feel it's a great buy. The 3/4 HP is powerful and the grinding mechanism is fast & relatively quiet. Our plumber said to run warm to hot water and lots of it every time we use it to keep our pipes clear. The inner area is stainless which shouldn't corrode.25 out of 34 found this review helpful.

This disposal was easy to install and had easy to understand/easy to follow directions. It was more difficult getting my old disposal out than putting this one in. The most time consuming part was attaching the house hardwire to the unit, since in comes with a preinstalled power cord. Other than that, no problems.21 out of 23 found this review helpful.
