Great portable dishwasher
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this dishwasher as a gift from my mother when I moved into a place that didn't have one built in. I works great, and saves fights about who's going to do the dishes. It's fairly quiet, I can be in the next room over watching TV and it doesn't bother me. It's built really well, it's about 150 pounds, so it was fun getting it up the stairs, next go around I'll wait for delivery. It was super easy to hook up, it comes with the adapter for your faucet and hooks up in just a couple seconds. depending on the settings chosen the cycle can take up to 3 hours to go through, so I just let it run while I'm sleeping or while I'm at work. It did leak the first two loads, nothing major, just a small puddle while the seals were getting settled, never again after that. I don't worry about leaving it running while I'm out of the house. It rolls really easily for being so heavy, and there is enough room inside to do a day or two's worth of dishes. It works great and can be converted into a built in when I buy a house.

If you decide to purchase this model, make sure you also purchase a silverware basket. The one that comes with this model has a folding front gate that will not stay closed due to a poorly designed latching mechanism. It is truly a piece of junk. Over all the dishwasher is not too shabby...

Q: QuestionWhat type of faucet is need to connect this portable?

- A:Answer Your kitchen faucet should have an aerator on it that unscrews. It doesn't matter if it is male or female since the dishwasher comes with an adaptor that works with either one.

Q: QuestionDo you need to purchase the SKU9898042 connector kit since it is a portable unit?I thought the faucet adaptor was included. Didn't think I needed anything else. Whirlpool on line says to just plug in and attach hoses to your faucet with adapter that comes with it. Is that correct or do I still need to purchase the above connector kit? Thanks.

- A:Answer Portable dishwasher model DP1040XTXQ includes the Coupler Assembly which is the hoses that come out the back of the dishwasher and hook to your faucet.
