I was so happy to find this at Best Buy b/c of their free delivery and on sale I this for less than $900 delivered (the black one didn't go on sale, which was fine with me). I am very, very pleased with it. It holds everything as I need it to (freezer and fridge) and the front door water/ice dispenser with child lock is designed well and words great. The best part is that since I purchased this online I was able to get a small % deposited into my Upromise account... a nice +.

    Shelves broke after 13 months

To prevent availability of third party parts, Whirlpool makes minor variations in each model,, so replacement shelves cost $120 each. The replacement shelves have the same cheap plastic liners, so I expect I will have to spend $240 per year for as long as I own the refrigerator.

We have had no problems until now... but a few days ago the fridge and freezer stopped cooling. Major fail because we lost a bunch of groceries but I know these things happen. We called a technician out expecting a few hundred dollars of repairs which we could have tolerated but were told the THE APPLIANCE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. The compressor was bad and the repairs would cost the same amount as replacing. Absoloutley devastated that Whirlpool will offer no discount on replacment parts or not even a discount toward a replacement fridge. Customer service at BEST BUY and at WHIRLPOOL did not even agree that an 18 month lifespan for the appliance was unacceptable. DO NOT PURCHASE this item!!!!

Accessibility to the interior is easy on both sides with good room including some nooks and crannies. No wasted space. For the money, (under $1,000) it works as promised. The ice tray is easily removable with a large container for parties. The crushed ice feature throws some excess around so be wary. There is no small drip pan under the water and ice to catch melting so you need to wipe that down but no biggey if you pay attention. There is no leveler for the doors that I... nor service could find on the top or bottom so I still need to figure that one out. If you are looking in this price range it will likely serve you just fine. Best Buy delivery, service and follow up-excellent.

    Posted by: from Yonkers, NY on 03/01/2012ice maker is loud, everything works well, cant find where you have to replace the filter for the water so I will have to go to the store cause no book came with it. stainless steel seems to spot in areas and makes it look old and dingy. OH and no egg bin, I kept my old one from my old fridge. AND I am 5'4" and it is hard to reach top shelves.

This one was on sale and met my needs for upgrading to a stainless steel unit. It has plenty of of storage space in both the refrigerator and freezer sections. Operates very quietly. The only drawback is that the water from the water dispenser is not always very cold. Ice dispenser works well and it generates a lot of ice very quickly from the ice maker. Over all a great unit for the price.

    Posted by: from Atlanta, GA on 09/21/2011I've only had this fridge for two weeks, but I have no complaints - it keeps things cold, the humidity control bucket works well, and it has more than enough space for our family of 3. The water dispenser is a little on the noisy side. It also feels sturdy, but it might be worth noting that the sides (like most fridges) are black, not stainless steel or silver colored. That didn't matter to me, but you might not be able to tell that looking at it from the front.

    Water dispenser leaks

However, Best Buy has a 30 day return policy and this refrigerator leaks water from the dispenser. We had 2 repair men out at our home and they thought we should just replace it with another. Okay, so we did, and this one (same model) # 2 also leaks water through out the day from the water dispenser! Not so happy with that. My old 12 year old model had no leaking water issues. I am having to keep a washcloth underneath the dispenser so that my wood floor is not damaged! Our water line is fine, and we did all of the recommended getting the air out of the line, etc. Now we are looking at taking apart the back to replace valves?

I like the light that lets you know the status of the water filter and tells you when it is time to order/purchase one and when it is time to replace it. Only negative comment I had, was that there seemed to be very little shelves.

The refrigerator was sold at a very good price and was affordable for most people. It was worth it to get the delivery and installation and have my old refrigerator removed.

So far I have been very impressed with this unit. Out of the crate, it did not need door adjustments or anything, I just had to place the adjustable shelves and door containers where I wanted them--it was actually kind of fun. The only complaint (how minor is this!) is that every once in a while it starts to make a small vibration noise when the compressor comes on, but this could be my floor as it stops when I move it slightly--don't let that be a deal-breaker! This is a great fridge after a solid 10 months of constant use of all it's components. With the combination of price and performance, this Whirlpool is a winner.

Its quiet and gets things frozen fast. Sticky fingers dont appear on the handles, a little behind the handles, but surprisingly not too annoying and very easy to clean. The inside is spacious and gives you plenty of options for shelf height and door basket height. Its very bright inside and has a sensor to let you know when to change the water filter.

Customer service through Whirlpool is horrible. Replacement parts are not available quickly, so we'll be without a frige for 10 days minimum.

I doesn't have any fancy features but it is sturdy and keeps the food at the appropriate temperature. It is also nice looking although the stainless steel needs cleaned often due to streaks. It is quiet except it makes a little noise when the ice machine is refilling. We are very pleased with it!
