Poor Radio
1
Posted by: from San Diego on 01/25/2012This was my 3rd XM satellite radio, the first one was a portable model and the second was a RC Express B & W model that lasted for 4 years with no problems at all. This radio was great for the 3 weeks that it lasted. The features were excellent brite colors and easy to read screen. Would not recommend this model at all !

Posted by: from Houston, TX on 01/19/2012The XM XpressRCi is a great radio. I like the fact that you can see so much on the little screen. I had a smaller one previously and this one is much better.

Good radio for the price

Posted by: from Johnstown, PA on 01/15/2012This is my second ExpressRCI. The first was a reconditioned that only worked for about two months, the remote never worked to turn on the radio. Bought this one new on sale, radio works great except the remote does not work to turn on the radio, must be a glitch with the remotes. Other than that its a good radio.

Eh...Great if you like XM

Posted by: from Phoenix, AZ on 11/03/2011Hmm...When I bought this I was under the impression it included many of the Sirius channels like Howard Stern (100 and 101). Turns out the service I paid for, was XM only SOOOOooooo I had to call and add-on Premium channels and that bumped my quarterly service up to $69. <- This is without online listening option... I was hoping to return but thought I'd give this XM radio a try and Reception(Under garage or awning) and Sound quality is great. Performance kinda freezes but is good. I would stick to SiriusXM radios and have a similar channel lineup but paying extra for Howard Stern is a crock...but I gotta say "I LOVE MY HOWARD STERN"...whadda gonna do?...

Very good, just not perfect

Posted by: from Baltimore, MD on 08/02/2011I've been living with this radio in my car for about a month now. I love having XM in my car. I listen to sports, Howard, some of the music channels. The kids love Disney Radio. .. This unit is easy to use, pretty to look at screen, nice # of presets. I love getting updates on my favorite team, to see what channel they're on and the score. It's plugged into my AUX input. My only real complaint is that it cuts out, a lot. Any tall trees, bridges, huge powerlines and I get the signal cut off. It might only go out for a second, but it's a pain ,especially when listening to a song. I'm going to have the antenna mounted somewhere else to see if that helps. Otherwise, this is a solid unit and really everything you need to enjoy satellite radio.

Radio resets and screen died
1
Posted by: from Missoula, MT on 07/05/2011I purchased this radio just about 2 years ago. Sound quality and reception are good. We wired the output to play through the radio station and it's on par with my husband's in-dash factory xm radio that's built into his truck. This unit will randomly turn off (not related to temperature, car battery, or any other external factor) and reset all favorites. Very annoying because it also re-sets all other settings (my radio frequency, and that the tuner is even on at all). But more annoying is that the screen blacked out. So now I can't see what station I'm on, and the next time it re-sets I'm going to have to buy a new unit (will not be this model) because I won't be able to go through the menu and change the necessary settings to make it work with my car. Save yourself a headache and annoyance (and likely replacement in a year or 2) and buy something else!

What a total piece...

Posted by: from Michigan on 05/27/2011I am so incredibly disappointed with this radio. After about 6 months the screen went black and now I cannot see what I am listening to or change channels. I will now have to go buy a new radio and I will certainly not be buying this one again...

Posted by: from on 02/26/2011i bought this to replace an old unit and it was fine until the screen went blank and the light behind the buttons went out. i have to turn on the interior lights to see what i am listening to. also some of the numbers to do a direct station dont work so now i have to use the remote. will have to go back to the old outdated unit. sucks.

Piece of you know what
1
Posted by: from on 02/14/2011My husband bought me this radio 2 christmas' ago, worked great for 4 months, and then every now and then it started freezing and I would have to completely disconnect it, at which point it would drop all of my presets. I got a new radio from XM, which was an ORDEAL to say the least, but it has been working great until this weekend. It won't turn on automatically when the power turns on, you have to press the button, and all of my presets clear out each time. I just got off the phone with XM and was told that the original warranty expired this past december, b/c the warranty doesn't carry over. So now I'm try to decide if I should spend another $150 on another radio or cancel the service, because they are an EXTREMELY difficult company to deal with.

Terrible
1
Posted by: from NJ on 02/03/2011Terrible device. The screen went black after a little more than a year. Can only see what's playing by shining a flashlight on the screen. No help or replacement offered from Best Buy, XM, or Audiovox. This replaced an old Roady XM that was over 5 years old. That one is still working fine in my daughter's car. Save your money!! With this many complaints you would think the company would replace the defective part.

Best thing I've bought for my car
5
Posted by: from Mt Pleasant, MI on 01/10/2011If you think this will work exactly like a DVR, then it's not for you, but this has been one of the best purchases I've ever made. I have XM and the best of Sirius. If I get a phone call during a radio interview I want to hear, I just pause it. I often go out to my car and turn the radio on a half hour or so before I leave and I can skip right through the commercials of my favorite program. You can record favorite songs, be notified of artists, etc. I love this unit. Only negative is the remote is not the greatest and the FFWD and RWD could use improving but for what this does I wouldn't trade it. Also, I needed a new antenna and XM online wanted to charge me $25 for the SHIPPING when the antenna was $15!!! Never understood that. But if you're in your vehicle a lot, this is one of the greatest things for listening to music/sports/etc.
