Posted by: Nubrew99 from San Bernardino, CA on 05/15/2013Awesome Soundbar. Would definitely recommend this soundbar for a large bedroom or smaller living room. This soundbar has plenty of bass response without the need for an external sub. But you can add one if you really want.
The only drawback I experienced was that somehow the center channel or voices of most films seems out of proportion to the rest of the sound. Had to put it in "clear voice" for it to somewhat even out again.

Great bang-for-the-buck soundbar

Posted by: rhenry from Little Rock, AR on 05/06/2013I am partial to Yamaha products, so I opted to purchase this particular sound bar over a Samsung one. The sound is quite good, and sometimes its hard to believe it came from such small speakers. You can tell a difference when the built-in subwoofer is on, but it's not going to shake stuff off your walls - it's just too small for that. I like that I can add an external subwoofer if i wanted additional punch. The unit does not have any analog inputs, but I didn't care if it did - my TV has coax digital audio out. Sometimes I wish it did have analog input so I could connect an MP3 player directly to the unit, but it's not a big deal. I do wish it had a display over the LEDs, but I am getting used to it. The piano black cabinet matches my TV perfectly. The IR blaster feature is a nice add and works well. I tried it out, but I am not using it because I don't need it. I taught the unit to respond to my TV remote and it works seamlessly for power and volume, but it can't learn "mute". I don't know if you can teach the unit to seamlessly switch inputs with your existing TV remote. I don't have a need for that because I leave the unit on the same input all the time and switch sources with the TV.

Nice soundbar for the price

I have a separate 7.1 system as well so I didn't need anything fancy and didn't want a soundbar with a separate subwoofer. This Yamaha unit has a sub built into the main chassis. Doesn't perform as well as a separate sub but is perfectly fine for my needs.

Sounds great and was able to program to my Samsung t.v remote, I don't know if it because I stream all of my t.v but some times the sound effects and background music can muffle the speech, I probably have some setting wrong. This does come with the digital cable to hook it to your t.v, it does not come with the screws and anchors to hook to your wall, mounting template included.

The sound that comes out of this thing is awesome! Even when its not turned up very loud, the sound fills the room. Music sounds good. Remote easy to use.

Yamaha has a reputation as a quality sound manufacturer, and after I heard the unit demonstrated in the store, I was sure that I would be happy listening to it at home. I would recommend this soundbar.
