Great in-wall/ceiling speakers

Posted by: Phoenixtech from Phoenix, AZ on 03/12/2013Bought these to replace some existing speakers that were very old. These 6.5 speakers fit the existing cutouts so that was a snap.
Connection to wiring was very easy as the speakers can take the audio wires and with a pushbutton type connector will open a slot to insert the speaker wire which will secure it solidly. I have 4 of these attached (fronts and rears) to my home theater and sound is very warm. Not a huge base response as I send all of that to the subs and with a 6.5" cone you shouldn't expect much. Listening to music through these (sans subs) sounds great. Nothing lacking and great value for the price.

Posted by: KW123 from Dallas on 08/09/2012You can tell these speakers are very high quality by the quality of the connections and components inside the housing. They are fairly heavy and clearly very well made.
Once installed, I realized that each speaker can be aimed slightly to focus sound at the seating area. This feature is usually found only in higher-end components.
The sound quality is excellent. I would recommend this product.

Excellent value from Yamaha

Posted by: JDouble99 from Visalia, CA on 02/05/2010These speakers are paired with the Yamaha in-ceiling speakers from the same line and a Sony 3-speaker Center Chanel unit. Power is provided by the Yamaha RX-V465 5.1 Receiver providing 100 watts (50 RMS) to each of the 5 channels. These 3-way in-wall speakers rock my vaulted 20'x20' kitchen and great room area. Excellent clarity, response, and realistic sound at all volume levels. Yamaha created a solid product and an excellent value at under $100 per speaker. You could pay more and improve power handling and high volume clarity, but I don't see the need. These speakers are excellent!

Took no time at all to install a pair, less than 30 mins. Very easy clamping system for old construction installation. Make sure before you put a 8" x 13" hole in the drywall that your wall is deep enough!
Great sound levels for both music and home theater set-up.
