Perfect for capturing HD video and audio!5

For the money you can't beat the video and audio quality! I can record at 24/96 and use Ni-MH batteries to extend the record/playback time. Also, I can use it as a webcam. It's great for recording a live performance like a concert or theatre. It easily fits in your pocket and on a standard camera try-pod mounting. Very Cool!2 out of 3 found this review helpful.

Get the Q3HD elsewhere if you have to have a toy2

I wouldn't recommend this unit. I kept hitting the record button when trying to zoom in and out, stopping the recording. Also, the HD settings are only at 25 and 50 frames per second, PAL standard, not the 30 and 60 for American TV, like it's bigger brother, the Q3HD. You'd have to change things in a video program later. Zoom is ridiculously minimal, and only digital at that--one speed in and out fits all. However with the U-stream feature, you can use the unit as a straight video feed to your computer, something you can't do with the Q3HD. Zoom has always been noted for great audio and this unit is no exception. Buy a real camcorder if video quality and video features are needed. This unit has basically none.5 out of 5 found this review helpful.

If your looking for an example of the quality sound and video that this device captures there is a video on youtube of a beginner recording with the device 5 minutes after it was taken out of the box.
