Another solid offering from Mr. Simpson Posted by: from: on I got into Sturgill Simpson recently with his superb 2014 album Metamodern Sounds In Country Music. This, his new offering is another solid effort from one of country music's best artists. A lot more experimental than its predecessor, mixing outlaw country with soul for a great and very different album. Highly recommended for all fans of outlaw country music and soul as well.

Sturgills' Best Yet! Posted by: from: on This is a departure in style from his first two CDs. Sturgill has a voice rich in character and emotion & it is richer than ever on this album. Every song is good. It has quickly become a favorite of mine.

Big band sailor lounge music Posted by: from: on It's not what I expected but not horrible. The album art is good. To describe this unique genre, you may use terms like marina, retiree, brass, horns, naval, dinghy, etc. Some reviews claim listening to the entire album from start to finish will give you the best experience. Probably because some of the songs are so different from others, one's perception of the artist would be radically different if you isolated one song from the whole.

A great country rock album Posted by: from: Boardman, OH on This CD reminds me of a throwback to the seventies. Its not really country and more of a rock album. The sounds on this disc is something that would have fit in to what music was 40 years ago. I think it is labeled country but it has alot of influences and is hard to categorize it. What ever you want to call it its different but oh so good. A must buy

Don't let this Country Artist scare you Posted by: from: on Wonderful album the owes much to the classic Memphis sound. Even if you're not a fan of today's Country music, don't let this one scare you away!

Sturgill creates another amazing album Posted by: from: san diego, ca on Sturgill Simpson consistantly produces amazing music that uses country style as the framework. He then embellishes his songs with rock and psychedelia. What a delight!
