I was looking for a hand vacuum that was not cordless and there weren’t many to choose from. I’ve tried cordless before and they are a pain to keep charged and don’t last long each use. This one so far has been great! Attachments are good for cleaning different areas and the cord allows you to reach a large space before having to move. Hope it holds up for years of use.

For those looking for a cordless vacuum, I dare you to try this Shark item first. This handheld vacuum will make you regret you even considered a cordless vacuum. Background: Last year I was gifted a pet bunny. As adorable as she is, she sheds constantly. I have an upright Shark vacuum cleaner that is more than capable of cleaning up fur. But the upright became cumbersome to use for small cleanups and spot-cleaning. Using the upright for vacuuming my car, which I've been doing for years, has always proved bearable but inconvenient. Hence my bunny caused me to search for a handheld vacuum for pets. I ruled out cordless vacuums - seriously, who wants to charge something for 4 hours to gain 30 minutes of usage? (And you lose power over the years because of memory loss with the battery. I'll pass.) I tried a few other handheld vacuums. I ultimately settled with the Shark Rocket Hand Vac and am satisfied. Pros The power cord is 15 ft. Very useful since I don't have to unplug and move to another wall outlet when cleaning my car. Same goes for when I'm cleaning fur up in a room. Easy to remove and empty cannister and filter. And they are easy to put back in. Can order replacement filters and parts online easily. The rotary brush works almost as well as my upright. Big plus to me because that means I don't have to switch out vacuums to clean the fur in my car. The vacuum hose has a latch connection and not a twist/screw in connection. (A detachable hose was a must have for me.) Brand - over the years, experience taught me to stay away from certain brands of vacuum cleaners. And I did try other brands but Shark was the winner for me and I do not regret purchasing this. Price - Some handheld vacuum cleaners cost more than what I would pay for my upright vacuum. I liked the price point Car detail attachment tools - My objective for purchasing this vacuum was to clean pet fur but knowing I can order a tool kit to assist with vacuuming my car is a bonus to me. Suction (see below) Cons There isn't any place to wrap and/or store the power cord (at least I haven't discovered one yet). This is one of the two main reasons I could not give a 5 star rating. The rotary brush doesn't work with the hose. Not a dealbreaker for me but that would have been nice since my upright's rotary works with its respective hose. Suction (see below) Wish List Add a hook or notch/clip to wrap the power cord around the vacuum or store it to be flush with the vacuum instead of just having the cord hanging on its own. I'm using a combination of a velcro wrap and carabinger to store the cord. Design/create/provide a wall mount and/or storage stand for this and attachments. This is the second reason why I couldn't give this 5 stars. The mount/stand could also include a way to store the power cord. This stand/mount is purely a personal preference but I noticed several cordless handhelds have a stand or wall mount for storage/charging purposes and I'd like the same for this handheld vac. I'd like the hose to be 4 to 8 inches longer but not if it means a reduction in the suction power. Make it where the rotary brush works with the hose. Suction power is decent but not the best when using attachments with the hose (without the hose, there is improvement but not much). There were times when I had to vacuum over an area in the house or car multiple times to get it clean. This wouldn't have been an issue with my upright+hose combo. This same scenario took place with most other corded handhelds I tried so my guess is the size of the motor is why. Still, I would like better/more powerful suctioning for a corded vacuum. For clarification of optional ratings Quality - How well did this vacuum? This worked as good or better than most other handhelds I tried. Value - See price above in Pros Ease of Use - I use this about once a week. This is lightweight but that is subjective. 6 lbs is light to me but possibly hefty to others. Size of this is average - not bulky, but not too small that I feel it will easily break. Switching attachments - piece of cake. I rated Ease of Use as Fair because, all things being equal, I'd really like a mount/stand for this and attachments and I'd really like a pre-determined way to store the cord as described in my wish list. Hope this helps.
